Homeschool Resource: Field Trips in Dallas/ Fort Worth

How are you today? I wanted to bring you a Homeschool Resource: Field Trips in Dallas/ Fort Worth If you know of other attractions, we should visit leave me a comment and I will add them to my Field Trip list.

These are Field Trips I can take my family on next year because David has agreed to let me continue Homeschooling Charlie through the following school year.

Charlie will be in 3rd grade and were looking into attending K-12 but I will supplement the classes by taking Charlie on Field Trips which matches the lessons K12 assigns Charlie.

As I’m getting the papers, we need to register Charlie I would like to tell you there is lot of paperwork I’m needing, and David has stepped up to help me get the papers were missing.

David saying, he would help me surprised me because I thought I would have to find everything by myself. I would like to say Thank you to David and to let him know I appreciate his help.

I called K 12 yesterday and they let me know they will send us all the class materials we need and even let us borrow a loaner computer. Which takes a load off my mind?

K 12 classes have to be done online and I didn’t have a computer for Charlie to use because I have to have our computer to do my work on. Having two computers will allow us both to get things we need done.

I let David know even though Charlie would be attending K12 we could take Field Trips with Charlie and David said attending Field Trips would be fun.

After talking to David, I did a search online and found places I thought Charlie would enjoy visiting which we could go to for Field Trips and use in our lessons.

The funny part is half the places on the list I haven’t ever been to visit, and I don’t think David has either. Going to visit these places will give us time to learn and grow and spend time as a family. While learning and helping Charlie with his schoolwork.

I can’t wait to find out which places Charlie and David would like to visit the most and to start the arrangements to visit these attractions. I wonder what all Charlie will learn as we visit.

- The Fort Worth Zoo offers classes for homeschooling children ages 6 to 12 two Tuesdays a month from September to December and January to May. Classes, are $25 each, are from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m. and include a snack, live animal presentation and admission for each student to the Zoo on class day. Please note that the same class is offered twice a month.

    If you cannot make a trip to the FWNC&R, one of our naturalists can visit your school or group. We can bring some of our animal ambassadors and artifacts to enhance your educational experience.
    
    Community Wide Events
    We are often invited by groups throughout the Greater Fort Worth area to share information about the FWNC&R. We are happy to come out to your event to share our Mission with your participants and promote outdoor learning experiences.
    
    Holiday and Summer Programs
    In a typical school year schedule, students have breaks for the holidays and the summer. During these times we provide programs the entire family can come out and enjoy. Some of our programs during the holidays can include specialty hikes, canoeing and our famous Bison Feeding Hayrides. During the summer, when children are out of school, we offer summer camps for students to experience the outdoor world and learn about the many facets that makes nature so special and important.

    Maker Studio is a pop-up space located in Innovation Studios designed to give guests ages 8 & up an opportunity to engage with our team and have hands-on making experiences. Each month features a new project led by our staff and involving a small group of homeschool students and their educators. It is a great way to explore STEM based experiences in a small setting.
