The Mommies Reviews

Daivid is going to be excited to find our today which is February 6th is National Frozen Yogurt Day #nationalfrozenyoogurtday because unlike me David loves both Sherbert and Frozen Yogurt. As for Charlie he likes Sherbert but I’m not sure about Frozen Yogurt. Charlie and I enjoy visiting Braum’s with David and it might be time to take David t get a Soft Frozen Yogurt Cone. Would you like to go with us?

NATIONAL FROZEN YOGURT DAY ACTIVITIES

  1. Throw a Yogurt party in your home if your able to if not then I would suggest if there is a TCBY near you grab the family and head to one asap. For our family we can make it a Homeschool Field Trip. Would you like to come with us.
  2. Check out your local frozen chains and local Mom and Pop shops and have everyone vote on there favorite. Check there websites before you leave home because some of them might be offering specials on Feb. 6th.

WHY PEOPLE LOVE NATIONAL FROZEN YOGURT DAY

  1. Yogurt is delicious!
  2. Yogurt can make you healthier but Yogurt can have as many calories as Ice Cream. Yogurt with probiotic cultures, including frozen varieties, can help maintain and improve heart and blood vessel health.”  Bacteria naturally occurring in Yogurt, even the frozen kind, could possibly have a positive effect on your digestive system. Which I need to purchase for Charlie to see if it would help with his stomach.

Valentines Day is right around the corner and I was wanting to purchase a Gift for Charlie and David. Now that I know Frozen Yogurt might help Charlie’s stomach I think I will purchase CUISINART Ice Cream Maker, Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt Machine, 2-Qt. Double-Insulated Freezer Bowl, Silver, ICE30BCP1 for Charlie and David.

Recipe for Frozen Yogurt:

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 quart (about 3 cups) whole-milk plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 to 1 cup sugar, honey, or other sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup, optional for smoother frozen yogurt
  1. Freeze the bowl of your ice cream maker 24 hours in advance.
  2. Whisk together all the ingredients: Combine 3 cups yogurt, 1/2 cup heavy cream, and 3/4 cups to 1 cup sweetener in a bowl and 1 tablespoon corn syrup (if using). Whisk until heavy cream and the sweetener are fully mixed in, 1 to 2 minutes. If you’re using granulated sugar, then the mixture should feel smooth between your fingers, not gritty.
  3. Refrigerate, if needed: If your yogurt mixture has warmed at all or if you want to wait to churn it for any reason, cover it and place it in the fridge until it has cooled to fridge temperature again. If your ingredients have only been out of the fridge a few minutes, another chilling isn’t necessary.
  4. Churn the yogurt until thick: Pour the yogurt base into the ice cream machine. Churn until the yogurt has thickened to the texture of soft-serve or a thick milk shake (17 to 20 minutes on most machines).
  5. Scoop into a freezer container: Smooth the top. Press a piece of parchment against the top of the yogurt to prevent ice crystals from forming.
  6. Freeze until hard, at least 6 hours or overnight.
  7. Serve the frozen yogurt: When ready to serve, let the frozen yogurt sit on the counter for 20 to 30 minutes, until just soft enough to scoop. Use long, shallow strokes to form balls of frozen yogurt. Serve right away.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David cates
