I would like to share Everything I Need To Know I Learned From Betty White a book I was sent to review.
Let me share a secret with you about myself and what Charlie and David would say about me. They would say I learned everything I know from Betty Whitek and the Golden Girls because I am always repeating something from the show.
Which is why I was so excited to read Everything I Need To Know I Learned From Betty White and as soon as Charlie saw the book laying on my desk he picked it up and began flipping through the book.
The next thing I knew Charlie was asking me if I knew certain things he was learning from the book which he used for his Homeschool Reading Class and even did a report on Betty White without being asked to.
Charlie choosing to read and do a report on Betty White on his own a Godsend and something I never thought I would see. When David heard this he had Charlie read Everything I Need To Know I Learned From Betty White to him and David said he even learned stuff from the book but he wouldn’t tell me what because he wanted me to read the book.
I sat down in my room to read a chapter or two of Everything I Need To Know I Learned From Betty White and before I knew it a couple hours had gone by as I found myself being drawn into Betty’s life.
I laughed and I cried and once I finished the book I could feel myself asking what’s next. If you haven’t had the opportunity to read Everything I Need To Know I Learned From Betty White you should because she will teach you so much.
Charlie and I even created posters from some of the information in the book to hang on our Office/Schoolroom wall to keep us grounded and focused and to remind us to always be kind.
About:
“Retirement is not in my vocabulary. They aren’t going to get rid of me that way.”
Throughout her life, Betty White has been seen as a beacon of good humor, straight-talk, kindness, compassion and grit.
With a television career spanning more than 80 years (the longest on record), she is one of America’s most beloved entertainers, best known for her award-winning roles on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Golden Girls and Hot in Cleveland.
She has received eight Emmy Awards, three American Comedy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Grammy Award, and numerous Humanitarian Awards for her work with animals.
She is a Television Hall of Fame Inductee as well as a Disney Legend. In 2018, her career was celebrated in a PBS documentary called Betty White: First Lady of Television and in 2019 she joined the cast of Pixar’s Toy Story 4.
As Betty White approaches her 100th birthday in January 2022, Betty continues to break new ground as an entertainer and grow in popularity.
Those achievements didn’t come easy. In a career that has spanned the whole of Television History, she’s had to exhibit a special mix of tenacity and kindness to overcome the obstacles in her path.
This new book helps readers address their own real-life challenges by examining how Betty would have done so with kindness, forthrightness and an abundance of good humor.
With references to her television and film work, as well as her devotion to Animal Welfare and other Humanitarian causes, Everything I Need to Know I Learned from Betty White provides answers to the questions we all face with gentle wisdom and the occasional kick in the pants.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
