EDSITEment – Literature and Language Arts

Every day I have Charlie work on Language Arts or Literature in our Homeschool Classroom. For the lessons we use workbooks or worksheets I find online. As I was preparing today’s lessons I noticed we was running out of Language Arts worksheets.and I knew I would need to search online for new worksheets or workbooks.
I decided before we would purchase anything new I wanted to discuss with Charlie what he already knew about Language Arts or Literature and didn’t know. This way I could look for those resources without wasting time teaching things Charlie already knew. Also this allowed me to get to know what Charlie was interested in and would be interested in learning. Charlie and I went online together to find the Language Arts or Literature resources we thought we would need this year for Charlie.
While we was online we came across  EDSITEment – Literature and Language Arts who offers a treasure trove for teachers, students, and parents searching for high-quality material on the Internet in the subject areas of literature and language arts, foreign languages, art and culture, and history and social studies.
One of the things I plan on having Charlie do is finish the workbooks we have. As well as checking into a Literature and Language Arts  website like EDSITEment – Literature and Language Arts. I would like to know if you have used  this Homeschooling Resource in your classroom? If so what did you think of this resource and why.
I haven’t used EDSITEment – Literature and Language Arts but I did take a look around the site. I like that they offer lesson plans for us to use on different subjects which we will be able to add to our lesson plans. I am not sure this is the right site for Charlie and I but we will try the free resources until we decide if we like EDSITEment – Literature and Language Arts or not.

The content is so extensive that a description here simply doesn’t do it justice. This is a remarkable resource for the home educator – so bookmark it to return often.

The one resource I do use to teach Charlie Language Arts is a workbook from Brain Quest for 2nd grade. and I like knowing there is a 3rd-grade version as well. Once we finish 2nd grade we can move on to the 3rd-grade version. Inside Brain Quest for 2nd grade you will find Cursive and Language Arts, Spelling and Vocabulary, Reading and Writing, Math Skills, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Fractions, Shapes and Measurement, Time and Money, Social Studies and Science.

Brain Quest for 2nd grade is a whole years worth of curriculum. I can tell you our Brain Quest workbook has taught Charlie a lot from this workbook and I will be using these books in the future. As well as purchasing them for Gifts and sharing them with other parents who are Homeschooling their children.

I will also be purchasing Daily Language Review, Grade 2I use for Daily Language Review, Grade 2 for Spelling and Reading. Daily Language Review, Grade 2 are one of the easiest workbooks I have found. I like how Daily Language Review, Grade 2 allows us to do work daily and if we don’t complete the work we can do it the next day without getting overwhelmed.

Charlie let me know Daily Language Review, Grade 2  are easy to do. Charlie let me know when we use Daily Language Review, Grade 2  he doesn’t get frustrated and the workbooks keeps his attention when working in the workbook like he does with other workbooks we have used in the past.

Another Languge Arts resource I found is on Educents . The next resources is All Aboard for Second Grade Language Arts Bundle – Student and Teacher’s Edition inside are 180 Lessons including Key Skills and Concepts: Spelling and Vocabulary: Compound words; Homophones; Antonyms: Plural words; Contractions; Common suffixes; Double letters; Capitalization. Phonics: R controlled vowel patterns. Grammar: Nouns; Pronouns; Verbs and verb tenses; Contractions. Reading: Short fiction; U.S. History, Science, Geography Informational texts; Biographies. Writing: The 5 step Writing Process; Journal.

Once I purchase All Aboard for Second Grade Language Arts Bundle – Student and Teacher’s Edition will take the place of all the other workbooks and worksheets we use. I will not have to spend time looking for other items for Language Arts. I like knowing Educents will have a lot of other items we can use for Language Arts as well. Iif you haven’t checked out Educents you should soon.
