Easy Oreo Bark

The Mommies Reviews

Did you know that today is National Oreo Day? If that isn’t an occasion worthy of a celebration, I don’t know what is! If you feel like you need to whip up something special for National Oreo Day you are going to love my Easy Oreo Bark recipe. This comes together in just a few moments and creates a treat worthy of sharing! But, it is so good, you may not want to share it after you sample it!

I was very last minute in this treat. Charlie hasn’t been feeling well, and I lost track of time. I wanted to see him smile and eat something so I surveyed my cabinets and this is what I came up with; easy oreo bark.

You will notice I used some christmas-y colors for this recipe, because I used what I had on hand, plus it works well for St. Patrick’s Day too which will be here soon.

Ingredients

20- Oreos or chocolate sandwich cookies

One package of chocolate candy melt bark

One teaspoon of coconut oil

Sprinkles, non pareils , etc

Optional: Chocolate Candies like M&Ms

Directions:

Line a cake pan (9×13) with wax or parchment paper .

Break the chocolate bark into chunks, add them to a medium size, microwave safe bowl.

Crush up your oreos into small chunks. You can do this in a plastic bag with your rolling pin.

Add coconut oil to the chocolate.

Microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring in between turns in the microwave. When the chocolate mixes smooth it is ready. Be careful not to overcook or forget to stir or your chocolate will burn!

Add half of the crushed oreos to the bottom of the pan. Add candies, sprinkles and etc.

Pour melted chocolate over the cookies and candy.

Top with remaining sprinkles and cookies.

Allow chocolate to harden. You can speed this up by placing the cake pan in the fridge for about 45 minutes.

When the chocolate has set and is hard you can easily pop the bark out of your lined pan. Then break it, or cut it into small chunks to share.

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days. If it lasts that long!
