It’s time to plan for the New Year for me that is setting aside one day a week to spend time with my girlfriends at local events throughout town. I can’t wait to share this new event at the Downtown Cowtown at the Historic Isis Theatre which is proud to present a unique speaker series Conversations with Women of DFW—4 speakers over 4 months sharing their wisdom as women of business in today’s climate. January 11th, February 8th, March 15th and April 12th, each beginning at @ 7:00PM. We have curated a 4-night series with a wide range of women to share their experience, strength, and inspiration growing up as a woman in the field they succeed in, while being a part of the DFW community. These nights are also a great opportunity for you to get to know the person behind their voice and what has helped propel them to the platform they have today:
January 11th— Kellie Rasberry from the 106.1 Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.
February 8th — Tashara Parker from WFAA Ch. 8 and advocate for the Texas Crown Act.
March 15th — Betsy Price, former Ft. Worth Mayor and currently running for Tarrant Co Judge.
April 12th — Krys Boyd from KERA/NPR’s “Think”.
Kellie Rasberry is kicking off the season on January 11th with an evening that is sure to make you laugh. After winning numerous Favorite Female Personality awards, in May 2019, the Alliance for Women in Media presented Kellie with the Gracie Award for her achievements as Co-host of a National Radio Show.
Following Kellie, we have Tashara Parker coming to our stage in February from WFAA Channel 8 news. Tashara will not only be discussing her voice, but how she has also used it to help bring the Texas Crown Act to life.
In March we bring former Ft. Worth Mayor, Betsy Price. Betsy Price is also currently running for Tarrant County Judge and will be sharing how she would use what she has learned to help her in this new position. To finish out the series, we are very excited to be bringing journalist and host of KERA-NPR’s “Think”, Krys Boyd. “Think” was named “Best Radio Talk Show” of Dallas by the Dallas Observer in 2009, and Krys was declared “Best Broadcaster for Radio in Dallas” by D Magazine in 2010 and won the PRNDI award for best call-in program in 2012. These evenings are something not to be missed in 2022.
The Isis Theatre, which first opened in 1915, has sat vacant in the Fort Worth Stockyards since 1988. Now open as Downtown Cowtown at the Historic Isis Theatre, the newly renovated venue preserves the original Theatre’s rich history and welcomes audiences to discover its unique character and historical eminence. The new Downtown Cowtown will meet the Fort Worth Stockyards with authenticity while providing something special for everyone.

Formerly the New Isis Theatre, the venue originally opened in 1915 as a single screen movie Theatre featuring silent films with live piano accompaniment. After a fire in 1935, the Theatre was rebuilt into one of the largest movie screen Theatres in Fort Worth.
