s I’ve said before I love children’s books that teach our children how to become the Humans we all want our children to be. Along with teaching children that even though people are different we should treat everyone with compassion and kindness. Which is what you will find inside Doctor Owlkin and The H.O.M.E. Team Book 1- “Trouble“
In this book the team turns a building that has been sitting empty forever which they tun into their office. Then a grocery store owner who is dealing with a BLOODHOUND who gets into things he shouldn’t give them a call and ask for help. The team forms a bound and brings him to there office where they form a team.
I hope you take the time to sit down and read Doctor Owlkin and The H.O.M.E. Team Book 1- “Trouble” which is the perfect book for children of all ages and even adults will enjoy this series of books. I hope every school purchases these books for their school libraries as well as the counselor’s office.
If you visit mine and Charlie’s classroom you will find out set of books on our library shelf which we use in our reading class and also our art class as Charlie practices drawing the animals. In Creative Writing Charlie has been writing more stories about the Animals and one day he might add more Animals to the stories just like the Author may do because I PRAY and hope more books come out.

Dr. Owlkin and Nurse Sharky receive an alert of a Dog causing trouble and go to see if they can help. When they arrive, they see a Bloodhound with extraordinarily long ears being scolded by the other animal shop owners. They learn that the Bloodhound is lost. They also learn about her seemingly magical ears and how this “difference” has saved her from these angry shop owners. Will she be rescued and become part of the H.O.M.E. Team or will she use her super powered ears to escape?

About the Author: Dr. Terri Howard-Hughes
Dr. Terri Howard-Hughes was born in Dallas, Texas. Her father was a War correspondent and information officer for General Clay post WWII. He covered the Nuremberg trials for Esquire magazine and wrote 35 novels and screenplays. Howard-Hughes followed her father’s footsteps, getting her bachelors (journalism) and masters (radio/TV) degrees from Southern Methodist University, graduating at the top of her class. She went on to receive her Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Dallas in Art, Technology and Emerging Communications.
Howard-Hughes worked as a newspaper reporter and assistant producer on the TV show Today’s Family, which covered all aspects of raising children. She wrote, directed, produced and edited an award-winning informational video for ITIP – Infant and Toddler Intervention Program. ITIP is an organization that design special programs to address the educational and developmental needs of very young children with disabilities. She also produced videos for the Rise School which exists to give the highest quality of early education services to children ages six months to six years with and without disabilities in an inclusive environment.
Howard-Hughes has had her company, Mediaforce Productions for 22 years, producing hundreds of corporate videos as well as short films and documentaries. She is using her storytelling expertise from video scripts in writing these books for children. She has won 36 international and national awards for her writing, editing and video production.
