Here’s A Quarter Call Someone Who Cares

Good morning, we are on Day 8th of the Ultimate Blogger  Challenge. So this morning as  I went through the prompts to see what the creators of the Ultimate Blog Challenge suggest we post this morning I saw it was a video.

Which as soon as I read the post I knew exactly which video I would post as it would allow me to show you how funny kids can be. As well as share a memory from my childhood and my beloved mom all in one post.

So this morning I wanted to showcase a pay phone and a song written by Travis Tritt called Here’s A Quarter Call Somebody Who Cares. As this is how I feel today since Charlie has been gone since Friday and hasn’t called me. So when he comes home and wants to talk to me I just might tell him to call someone who cares since he couldn’t check in with me.

Now, I know I could call him or even go out to where they are but I am trying not to disturb them and to give him some “FREEDOM” but it is killing me. I miss both boys so much. I hope today ends soon so they come home.

Although if they decide to stay a while longer I will handle it and not complain as it gives me time to work on the blog and also in the house. As well as spend one on one time with David which we never seem to get.

So without further ado here is the video I mentioned as I knew exactly what I wanted to post as it would match this video to a T.

My question for you this morning is when was the last time you used a payphone and do you know who you called on it? Do you remember what it cost to make that phone call?

Because when my mom passed away my dad put a dime in her hand so when she got where she was going if she didn’t like it she could call us and we would go get her.

My sister and I both asked why it was a dime and my dad said that was how much it would cost him to call and ask my mom for a date. So this morning I have plenty of dimes. I just can’t call my mom.

  1. Love Travis Tritt and the video is perfect. Thanks for sharing. Last time I used a pay phone? Used a “sort of” payphone in the Denver airport a couple of years ago when I left my cell phone at my daughter’s. Called my son to let him know I wouldn’t be calling when I reached home, no phone. I didn’t want the kids worrying, and knew he’d tell the others what happened. I say “sort of” because it looked like a pay phone, it didn’t require money or credit card to use. Was so thankful it was available. By the way, I used to make sure I had a dime when I went out so if the evening went bad I could call someone to rescue me.

    1. Thank you because as soon as I found that picture I knew I had to find a video of
that song as I wanted to share it with my son. As I wasn’t sure he had ever heard it.
I can relate to losing a phone in the Airport as my husband works at ours and did lose
      his phone there.
So I need to tell him to look for a phone like that so he can call me when there.

  2. I don’t remember the last time I used a payphone. They started disappearing when I was in my early teensas cell phobes grew popular. I doubt my kids would even know what they are now!

    1. I bet your children like mine wouldn’t have knew what it was.
I wish I had let them make a phone call using the phone because
it would be something they could have shared with there friends.
      Have a Blessed day.

  3. Recently in New York City in Times Square, there was an Art Exhibit with “Old Fashion Phone Booths!”

I remember 10 cent phone calls and dialing ‘0’ to make a collect call and reverse the charges.

I do not remember who or when the last pay phone call was that I made.

    Thanks for the memories!

And I hope you are enjoying the Ultimate Blog Challenge!

    1. Your welcome and yes, I also remember calling 0 to reverse phone calls.
Although I had forgotten about it until you mentioned it.
      Thanks for jogging my memory.

  4. How special you mom must have been and what a great thing for you dad to do! I remember using pay phoes back in the 60’s when I met my now hubby. When my mom and I would go the laundrymat, I would always take my dime and call him! As for Charlie, I hope he his have a wonderful time. It hard when our kids go out, I worry so much even with my kids being grown!

    1. My mom was a piece of work but yes, my dad is special.
I am glad you would take the time to call your hubby because
anything could have happened and something might have happened.
Yes, he is having a wonderful Summer and has been truly blessed
      this Summer.
Even adults kids need to be worried about as things can happen to
      them as well.
      Just like our parents.
