Or at least David is. LOL Because yesterday Charlie got out of school at noon. So I told Tammy Aiden’s mom that I would watch Aiden until she got off from work. So she did not have to leave and pick him up and go back to work. Which was fine as I have kept Aiden a lot and him and Charlie get along good and just play and play and play.
But as we was leaving the school Charlie’s other friend Bradley was still there waiting on someone to pick him up. So we waited on his grandfather. While we waited David asked if I was going to keep Bradley as well and I said no, Leslie says Tommy is going to.
So I told David not to mention it as it would mean I would have all three boys by myself and I wasn’t sure how Aidan and Bradley would do together. So a gathered Charlie and Aidan up I see David talking to Tommy Bradley’s grandfather. As I start to walk off I see Tommy stop and look at Bradley then back at Charlie and Aidan.
I ask Tommy if he needs something and he say’s you’re just going to the house right? I tell Tommy that that is correct. So from noon until almost 10 O’Clock last night I had kids. Because Leslie was supposed to pick Bradley up at 4 but she had a quick errand to run and asked me to keep him a little longer.
Tammy should have picked up Aidan at 6:30 but was stuck on a conference call so I was stuck with him till after 7 when his brother came and picked him up. Once Aidan left Charlie asked if Bradley could stay and they play on his car outside. Which meant I couldn’t even come inside.
So we spent almost 7 hours outside yesterday. Which was nice because kids need to be outside. But let me tell you when they left I was exhausted. As was Charlie. I went into my room to watch TV and in about 30 minutes Charlie came into my room and crawled up into my bed and within 30 minutes he was asleep.
So there was no work done last night even though I had things to do because the boys needed me to watch them as they rode the bikes and Scooters and they are too young to take themselves to the park. So all I can say is this is why I work from home.
So this morning I got up at 6:30 to come and work as I thought Charlie would sleep till 10 or 11. But boy oh boy was I wrong he is already outside playing in the yard. Waiting on me to let him take his car out to ride. Which even though David is home and he says he will. We all know that won’t happen.
So again work will be put on hold. But it is ok as I am spending time with Charlie and we are making memories. So when he grows up he will have them to share with his children. Plus Charlie will know how important is to play with his children. And the TV can and should wait.
So with today being Saturday I can not wait to see where the day takes up and how much work I do or do not get done.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
Those are the memories you’ll remember….they are worth the exhaustion and ‘work being put off’!! ~KM
