I am so excited to share the cutest children’s book with you called Detective Duck: The Case of the Missing Tadpole (Detective Duck #2) written by Henry Winkler- Lin Oliver Illustrated by Dan Santat. Inside this post is my affiliate links. If you click on the links and make a purchase I will make a small percentage from the items I purchase.
Before I share my thoughts on the book with you I wanted to let you know I grew up with Henry Winkler from the TV Show Happy Days. The Fonz is someone I wish I could have been friends with and yes, I know he is a TV Character so instead I would have liked to meet Henry Winkler.
Since I can’t I have the next best thing his children’s book Detective Duck: The Case of the Missing Tadpole (Detective Duck #2) a chapter book for Middle School children. There is three books in this series and I plan on purchasing the other 2 books to add to my library.
I’m sure when both Charlie and David see these books there going to want them for themselves. Before you ask yes, I will share just like my mom taught me to. The cove of the book is so cute Suzane would have loved the Duck.
David the Frog. Charlie the blue and yes, he is blue Fish. I liked the background of the book. The story and the illustrations will keep children and children entertained for hours on end. The story was easy for both Charlie and David to read.
We enjoyed seeing all the characters in the book. Charlie thought it was funny to find out the Duck is a girl and the leader of the pack. Which was a #teacningmoment for Charlie. Because girls can do anything there set there minds to including being a Detective.
Be watching for twist and turns in the book. Children and adults alike will enjoy the story. I hope all three books are in all school libraries and in Public Libraries as well. Charlie wanted me to let you know this book is almost like a Graphic Novel.
About the book:
Detective Duck: The Case of the Missing Tadpole is a hysterical, full-color chapter book adventure from New York Times bestselling creators—Emmy Award–winning actor Henry Winkler, children’s book Author Lin Oliver, and Caldecott Medal–winning Author-illustrator Dan Santat
Willow Feathers McBeaver, aka Detective Duck, is a crime-solving (and very precocious) little Duck. She and her Animal pals live on Dogwood Pond, a beautiful pond in New England adjacent to Lazy Days, a human campground.
Dogwood Pond has always been a pristine spot with clear water, abundant Wildlife, and shady Willow Trees, but now it is encountering puzzling problems—mysteries that arise from human-caused disruptions in Nature, such as Water pollution, refuse, warming climate, and human encroachment.
When Tad the Tadpole goes missing, Detective Duck and her friends in the Pond Squad are on the case. What first seemed like a simple search and rescue mission gets more complicated when her friends find a pipe leaking a strange brown liquid and a cluster of peculiar blue-green Plants that make it difficult for the Pond creatures to breathe.
Fortunately, Detective Duck is on the job, solving these puzzling mysteries before they get out of hand and destroy their habitat! The Pond Squad will have to work together to clean up their environment and bring Tad home in this charming new mystery.

Henry Winkler

Henry Winkler is an Actor, producer and director. He is probably most famous for his role as the Fonz in the 1970s US television sitcom, Happy Days. But if you ask him what he is most proud of, he would say, “Writing the Hank Zipzer books with my partner, Lin Oliver.” He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Stacey, their three children and two dogs.
Thank you,
