I thought I would share a children’s book with you Death & Sparkles and the Sacred Golden Cupcake: Book 2 (Death & Sparkles, 2) by Rob Justus. I received a physical copy of in exchange for this review.
Charlie loves Anime and Graphic Novels and most of the time this is the only type of book Charlie will read. Which is why I couldn’t wait for my copy of Death & Sparkles and the Sacred Golden Cupcake: Book 2 (Death & Sparkles, 2) to arrive. For Halloween I let David know I would like to purchase book one Death & Sparkles: Book 1.
Charlie saw the book sitting on my desk and picked it up and begin to browse through the book. Then he laid it back down and went upstairs. David asked me what Charlie was looking at and I handed him the book. I went back to working and the next thing I know David was trying to read the book.
I sat what I was doing down and went and set next to David and let him read to me and I helped with the words he didn’t know. Charlie heard us and came downstairs and began to read the book with David. David told Charlie that the book reminded him of the Comic Books he collected as a child. Charlie said no, it was a graphic novel and they begin too discuss the difference between comic books and graphic novels.
I love how they both shared what they like to read with each other. Charlie and David had fun reading the story and let me know they would like to get book one which can be read as a stand-alone. The guys loved the illustrations and had fun drawing more pictures and creating there own stories.
I can never thank the Author enough for bringing Charlie and David together and getting them interested in reading. For Christmas his year I can’t wait to check out Rob Justus and purchase other books he has written not only for Charlie but also my nephew. I hope you take the time to check out his writing as well.
I believe these books are for upper elementary students and I hope and PRAY these books are in school libraries and also in Public Libraries so every child has the chance to read these books which is perfect for boys and girls. Not, only that just as you saw with David adults will enjoy the story and also the illustrations as well.
