If I were you and I visited this website very much you would think all I read is novels written by Danielle Steel. Which at one time happened to be pretty much true. Although I’ve branched out to other authors at the moment I’m back with Danielle Steels High Stakes.
Again if you look at the tag I found High Stakes on sale. this time I can’t tell you from where from because I had purchased it a while ago and it got placed in a closet. I found it last night and sat down to read it and would like to let you know I’ve already finished this novel.
High Stakes is a captivating novel about 5 women and there careers at a boutique literary agency and talent agency. That I would have liked working at until I found out what was going on behind closed doors. Then I decided this wasn’t the right job for anyone.
We fist meet Jane Addison who is knew to the company but becomes the most influential in the company. Someone everyone should have in there corner. Then there is Hailey who represents the Authors but her life is chaotic as a single mom of three young children she is afraid to rock the boat for hear of losing her job.
They we meet Francine Rivers head of the literary department. Francine is also a single mom after her husband’s affair with the nanny, she has overcome the resulting financial hardships, but only with unbearable sacrifice. Trust me you wouldn’t want to be Francine.
We also meet Allie Moore when compared to Hailey and Francine, drama agent Allie Moore’s life seems carefree. Allie loves her success and working with the talented actors the agency represents—until a passionate relationship with one of her rising star clients threatens to derail her career.
Last but not least is Merriwether Jones and she is the CFO for the agency. At first glance Meriwether appears to have it all—beauty, success, and a perfect marriage until her husband’s jealousy over her career threatens Meriwether marriage. Don’t feel sorry for her husband because he may not be all he seems.
Through all the obstacles though they build a bond and become friends. In this novel you will find romance, deceit, suspense and of course drama. Its a story that draws you in and once you begin reading the book you will not want to put it down although keeping up with these women will keep you busy.
