Dana’s Music Playground

The Mommies Reviews

In June, a nationally acclaimed and multiple award-winning artist known as Dana’s Music Playground will release A Place To Call Home, an album of songs about dwelling-places of animals and humans. Many of the songs delve into the habits and habitats of threatened animals — the honey bee, humpback whales, hermit crabs, and more.

The cool parenting site Red Tricycle included it in their roundup of the best albums of 2020 (so far), saying, “it is impossible not to start singing along” with these tunes.

Kids and parents (and teachers) stuck at home may find it fun and educational to groove along with these catchy songs based on science.Today, the album went live for pre-orders,and she released the first music video, “Underground Traffic Jam.”

Where there are tunnels, there is bound to be traffic! Dana is a “reporter” humorously narrating what happens underground as animals burrow their way through congested passageways in this rockin’ song for children.

Jeffrey Cohen premiered it this morning:

Here’s the idea behind A Place To Call Home: Every living being, from honey bees to humans, needs a safe place to call home. Dana’s new songs explore the different places animals live…in the  sky and sea, in wetlands, underground tunnels and more. Featuring numerous musical genres ranging from rock to reggae, bluegrass to bossa nova, the album is designed to educate and engage young listeners while inspiring them to care about all the living creatures who share this precious planet we all call home.

Dana’s next music video release this month will be “Honey Bee Bee Bop.” The song, about how important honey bees are to us, is especially timely with the news about murder hornets near Dana’s home in Blaine, WA.
