Did you know I have a Woodpecker that sits on a pole outside my home. If I go out early in the morning and it’s quite the Woodpecker will talk to me. This is my favorite part of the day.

I would like to share Bird Coloring pages I created for Charlie. All you have to do is print them out and begin coloring.

If your Homeschooling and teaching your students about Birds don’t forget to let them know that National Bird Day is celebrated on January 5th. Which is a separate Holiday. Then there International Migratory Bird Day observed on the second Saturday in May

People love birds and Bird watching which is a favorite pastime of millions of people and its one of the most popular hobbies, and can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age.

With the popularity, comes as no surprise that there is more than one day established to recognize, appreciate, and enjoy birds. We suggest you celebrate all of these days.

Bird Day is the oldest of the days set aside to recognize birds. According to the U.S. Library of Congress, Bird Day was first observed on May 4, 1894. Started by Charles Almanzo Babcock, superintendent of schools in Oil City, Pennsylvania.

By 1910, Bird Day was widely celebrated, often in conjunction with Arbor Day. Bird Day and Arbor Day events are focused upon conservation training and awareness.

I would like to let you know National Bird Day was established by bird activists. They were calling upon people to recognize the plight of captive birds. It also draws attention to exploitation of birds in the U.S. pet industry.

On National Bird Day, organizers suggest we reflect upon the conditions of birds held in captivity. Before you ask does this really happen and yes, it does more than we would like to admit..

International Migratory Bird Day celebrates the incredible journey that migratory birds take each year. Traveling thousands of miles between breeding grounds in North America, and their winter homes in Central and South America.

Organizers say International Migratory Bird Day is a day to support, and to increase awareness of conservation efforts in support of migratory birds. I would like to suggest you take the kids on a field trip into the woods to look for enjoy migrating birds.

On each of these Bird Days, we encourage you to take a few minutes to watch and observe birds, as well as to feed them. If your not sure what type of Bird Feed you need visit your local Pet Store for help.

Renewal Day

Renewal day

An absolutely spectacular day because this is a day of new, and old, beginnings. Things get old and out of sorts. We lose touch with friends, loved ones, and relationships.

For whatever reason, we “let “it” go. Well, whatever “it” is, today is the day to renew it, rejuvenate it, and bring the spark back into it. Get busy and start working on those renewals now.

When we think  of “renewal”, we think of relationships. We vow our marriage will never get old which isn’t true just like anything else, it does. We swear we will remain close to our parents and siblings. But over the years, we don’t.

With a hug and a tear, we tell our best friends that we will call and write. All too quickly, the demands of everyday life keep us from calling or writing.  …get the picture?

Renewal Day is not limited to renewing relationships and social issues. You can also renew:

  • Your nails
  • Your hair color and/or style.
  • Your figure
  • Your home
  • The shine on your car.
  • Your driver’s license
  • A magazine subscription
