Cuddling with my little man Charlie is my favorite thing to do. But it doesn’t happen as much as I would like it to. As he has grown up. And he is now 8 so he is more into doing things with David than me. As they both like working with there hands and playing videos. And watching TV. As they can spend days just vegging out in front of it.
So when Charlie does want to cuddle I drop all I am doing and I go and sit with him. So this morning as I was working Charlie comes into the front room with the two books in the picture and ask me if he can read them. And I tell Charlie that is fine. But that wasn’t what he wanted. Charlie wanted me to stop and read both books with him.
So I wanted to climb into a chair and pull him onto my lap but I knew not to do that as it would push him away. As he wouldn’t want David to see me holding him. So like Charlie I sat down on the floor. Which was very cold and we read the books. And talked about Baseball and Charlie wanting to play Basketball. And we just laughed and had fun and CUDDLED. And I even was able to snag a hug and a kiss.
So if nothing else good happens in 2016 I have this memory to hold onto as my son let me CUDDLE with him and we had fun. And we made new memories to carry us into 2016. And I just Pray there is a lot more days like this. And no more negative ones where he want’s to hurt himself. As that just breaks my heart and it scares me. As I do not know what to do to help Charlie. Other than to let him know I love him. “MORE THAN MOSTER TRUCK AND PIZZA” as Charlie tells me.
So happy New Year everyone and if you get a chance grab the ones you love and CUDDLE with them as we are not Promised tomorrow. As I ca attest to as my daughter is celebrating the New Year’s in Heaven. And today I would like to tell Suzzane I love you and I miss you. And Happy New Years and you was right you are the “BEAUTIFULEST and must be CAMERIZED!!
And I love you and Charlie to the “MOON and BACK” now and always.
