Control Switch is the story of Candace (aka Candy) who is a life coach and a celebrity published self-help book author. Candice is a only child, who she has been offering advice to people since high school. Until she gets thrown a few curveballs in life and it seems to unravel. As we all know life happens, and her marriage to hunky successful lawyer Ross Simpson is jeopardized because of her ‘withholding truth’ which she comes to regret. Family secret erupts, much to her dismay, and she is forced to look inward for once. Her best friend Fiona and Aunt Josie stay by her side through thick and thin. Her career begins to fall apart; keep reading to see if she recovers
Control Switch is of her navigating through the mess left after some major setbacks. Candace wrote a book about taking control of one’s life, but the “quotes” taken from her book seem like mundane platitudes and didn’t make sense at times. Candice is a woman who believed she had total control of her life. Then Life takes over, and she is shaken to her core realizing control is elusive to preventing loss, illness and embarrassment and hysterectomy/
If your like me through the book you will fill like your in the mind of Candace and seeing the world not only through her eyes, but somehow through her actual thoughts. Control Switch takes you on a journey that you won’t want to end because of the intriguing story of a woman who must have control in all aspects of her life.
About the Book:
Since high school, Candace Bradford has been offering advice to anyone who would listen: stop procrastinating, start exercising, remain calm in tense situations. Now that she has a just-released book on the market, and a radio show airing weekly out of Chicago, people are definitely listening. It seems that thirty-something Candace has achieved her single greatest dream in less time than she could have imagined. But despite her bright future, Candace’s success comes with a price – at the very moment when her career is poised to take off, she comes under the hold of a strange illness, the ramifications of which could tear her carefully constructed world apart. Candace makes a quick decision that could save her life while simultaneously ruining her marriage to Ross Simpson, a hunky, hot shot lawyer with a severe competitive streak and a burgeoning workload of his own. In an effort to protect Ross, Candace lies about her health, preventing him from having any influence in her decision-making process. Ross becomes irate when she finally fills him in on the situation, walking out on their already-troubled marriage. Even so, Candace can sense that there is more to Ross’s reaction than he is letting on. The real question is, can Candace keep her crumbling career together long enough to figure out what he is hiding?
Meet the Author: Leana Delle
“Promise me you’ll write a book someday,” began a journey of self-discovery. The quote came from a dying friend, and Leana Delle kept that promise in 2013 with the release of CONTROL SWITCH. A second novel is just around the corner. Leana completed her studies in creative writing through Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX and is an alumna of their New York seminar. Originally from Canada, she now stacks her books in the Big D.
