Comprehensive Travelers Guide To Blackpool: Everything I Wish I Knew before
In our handy traveler’s guide to the Seaside Resort of Blackpool, we will take a quick look at some of the places of interest, local attractions, entertainment, and other details that any visitor to this side of the British Isles should know about.
Blackpool is a Seaside Resort located in North West England and a favorite attraction for those seeking lively thrills, excitement, good-spirited folks, and plenty of good eating. The expanses of sandy Beaches make this a popular place for sun worshipers to make their sporadic pilgrimage.
This town is all set with the latest proud British institution, piers, but there are plenty of other attractions as well. For example, don’t miss a chance to head up to the tower for a spectacular 360° view of the local area. Then, visit the Winter Gardens, the theaters, the Golden Mile, and the host of other amusements — like the Blackpool Illuminations with close proximity to Hotels in Blackpool.
Blackpool is the Summer destination for holiday-goers from across the British Isles and the globe to come and bask in the warm sunshine and sands and enjoy the many amenities this location has to offer. The Seaside Resort has a sprawling pleasure Beach that features an array of attractions and makes this place a great spot to relax in the Summer or Winter.
One of the most interesting attractions is a replica of the Parisian Eiffel Tower. This Tower is a smaller-scale version of the real Eiffel Tower and has become an iconic symbol of the town.
The Tower itself features an array of attractions, including a Circus, Aquarium, indoor adventures grounds, and an observation deck. From the vantage point of the 500-ft observation deck, you can see some of the most splendid views over the town of Blackpool and the surrounding areas.
Pleasure Beach is one of the most popular attractions in Blackpool. It features many attractions and rides but is most famous for the Pepsi Max Big One — one of the tallest and fastest rides in Europe.
Because of its extensive selection of eateries and restaurants serving a delectable selection of food, Pleasure Beach is one of the more popular attractions in Blackpool.
Another event that will attract people from far and wide is the famous Black Pool Illuminations. These terrific displays of light and color can be seen from the end of August to the beginning of November each year. Each night as the Sun goes down, the entire town of Blackpool is alight with dazzling brilliance during this time.
The tradition is many years old, but as more time passes these impressive displays of lighting grow ever more elaborate and impressive. Witnesses have reported that Blackpool has created their very own synthetic Aurora Borealis to banish the darkness.
Not too far from Stanley Park in Blackpool, is the Blackpool Zoo. This Zoo is home to an impressive array of Wildlife from across the Planet. This is a favorite attraction for those who like to see beautiful Parklands simulated to recreate these Animals’ natural environment.
Amazonia is a special enclosure where you can have first-hand experience with the Animals of the Rainforest, including Monkeys and Birds. The feeding sessions are an especially popular event for young children who can witness these strange creatures delighting in their natural diet. To take a relaxed but equally exciting trip to the Parklands, Zoo, and enclosures, there is a miniature train that meanders lazily through the grounds.
The Sea Life Centre can be found along the promenade, along the famous Golden Mile. This is where visitors can find a fabulous display of Marine life including a very rare collection of some perfectly terrifying Sea Snakes — with Ophidiophobia be warned!
Further in the Sea Life Center, you can find the colossal tanks housing a complex and real-life Tropical Reef Ecosystem. The extensive selection of brightly colored tropical Fish and Reef Sharks is unforgettable.
Some of the most interesting highlights of this trip include the walk-through underground tunnels where visitors get a Worm’s eye view of the unbelievable world of Tropical Fish. There is also lots to learn about these ancient Ecosystems from informative commentary from guides and Marine Biologists.
While the seaside resort of Blackwood may not be to everyone’s taste, there is certainly a lot to see and understand about this timeless British Seaside Resort with accommodations at every price range.
