I’ve always loved looking at Christmas Lights and always seem to end up in Diamond Loch which is fun to visit. But I also would like to visit Interlocken in Arlington and never get to because David doesn’t want to go. With David working doubles I thought about taking Charlie on the T which is the City Bus to see the Light’s, but David doesn’t think it would be safe for Charlie and I to ride alone.
I researched lights in Fort Worth and put together a list of homes decorated for the Holidays that I would like to visit. If my sister isn’t busy Saturday night I want to see if she would like to visit some of the homes. If I go to a few a night, then by Christmas I would see all of these homes.
Here is the list of you would like to see Christmas Lights as well:
Wisdom Way Lights, Haltom City, now-January 1
The “Selena house” debuted as a sensation last year is back. As you all know I live in Haltom City but even though I love Selena and I am a fan of Selena’s I didn’t know about the “Selena House” or you can bet your bottom dollar I would have been to see this attraction at least once.
This is the Gonzalez family’s 10th Annual Choreographed show featuring 8,300 LED lights along with a six-minute tribute to Pop Star Selena. They even play clips of Selena concerts which are projected on an LED screen while music and interviews are played over speakers among lighted Christmas Trees on the lawn “.
There is also an eight-minute light show featuring characters from The Simpsons. Which David would love while I couldnt care less about the Simpsons. How about you?
Visitors can view both shows from their cars while listening on the Radio channel 89.7 FM. Wisdom Way Lights runs nightly from 6-10 pm, and until 11 pm on Friday and Saturdays. You can find the Selena Home at 4521 Wisdom Way, Haltom City. For updates you can check them out on Facebook or YouTube.
Curry Christmas Chaos, North Richland Hills, now-January 1
North Richland Hills is a hop skip and jump from Haltom City, and I can’t wait to check out Curry Christmas Chaos in person. Would you like to join me?
In this display three houses collaborate to present light show synchronized to music that’s anything but chaos. It takes just over an hour and features a mix of pixels and LED lights “dancing” to music. Visitors can tune the Radio to 89.9 FM to listen as Christmas Trees light up the lawn. This event runs every night from 6-11 pm, through January 1st. You can find Curry Christmas Chaos it 3506 Reeves St., NRH. Don’t forget to check out there Facebook page for updates.
Foley family home, Park Glen, far north Fort Worth, now-January 1st.
Which is also a Hop Skip and Jump from Haltom City. Let’s make Hot Chocolate grab or favorite snacks and load up the car and head to the Doley family home to see what they’ve been up to.
Since 2015, yes, you heard me right since 2015 and I didn’t know about the Foley family has been lighting up their home with a choreographed lights display. Looks like I’ve been sleeping on the job of hunting for Christmas Lights to go and see.
This display plays each night from 6-10 pm featuring over 20,000 LED lights and approximately 30 songs. You will hear half of the songs play one night and half the next. Plan on going two nights to hear all of the songs. When you arrive tune your Radio to 100.1 FM to hear the music or you can listen to the music through speakers throughout the yard. Make sure you look for the singing Santa face, along with the 10-foot mega-sized Christmas tree topped with a Bethlehem Star. Or for the Star Wars fans a singing, dancing Baby Yoda. Bring your letter to St. Nick which you can place in a special mailbox. Then walk through a Christmas light tunnel on the sidewalk. This home faces the Arcadia Park Hike-Bike trail, making it easy to walk or bike to the house for an all-outdoors experience. The home is located at 8301 Greylock Dr., at Island Circle, Fort Worth, South of Keller.
Tell Family Lights, far north Fort Worth, now-January 1st
This family home is near Keller Central High School. They put on a synchronized Christmas light show. This year, they’re raising money for the Make-a-Wish foundation to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses. You can find more information about donating here. The home is located 5016 Keating St., Fort Worth, 76244.
The lights are on 5:30-9 pm Sunday through Thursday and 5:30-10 pm Friday and Saturday. You can check out their website or Facebook page for updates.
Interlochen Lights, Arlington, December 17-25
If you plan on attending this event plan on going early or being in line for a while. Make sure the kids use the restroom and have drinks before getting into the line. Because there is neither and if your children are like mine half-way through, they will want both a drink and a restroom.
The Interlochen neighborhood will present Interlochen Lights for just one week and weekend during the holiday season. Known as the best neighborhood light show in Texas, the event allows guests to drive through the neighborhood and pick out favorite displays while they tune into Holiday music on these radio stations 102.1 FM or 98.7 FM. Like I said earlier this is one of the busiest spots in Dallas-Fort Worth during the Holiday Season, but it’s free. The route will be the same as previous years; and you can a find map here. You can find updates on their website or Facebook page.
Diamond Loch, North Richland Hills, now-January 1
This is the one event we attend every year and I’m proud to say I have friends who live here, and they do decorate theree Homes not only during Christmas, but this is the place to take children for Halloween. It’s also free and at times there is lines but its’ well worth the wait. They also have Grinch out at certain times, and I hope when I attend, I get to see him in person. How about you?
This North Richland Hills neighborhood has dressed up for the Holidays for decades. You drive through the cul-de-sac slowly to check out houses that join forces to present a massive, computerized show. The rest of the street decorates nicely to make an enchanted “Whoville” Christmas experience. The neighbors grow the show every year. The Grinch himself may actually pop in occasionally; follow. For more information check out there Facebook page or search #nrhgrinchlights to keep see what is happening. Diamond Loch is open daily, 5:30-11 pm. To find this attraction, navigate to the address 6217 Windsor Ct., NRH, 76180.
Rushing Meadow Court and Harder Drive, Dalworthington Gardens, open now-January 1st
I know I’ve heard of Dalworthington Gardens but I’m not sure I’ve ever been there but with him raising money for Alzheimer’s I would like to go. Because this is what my dad’s dad had and ended up taking him from us way to early. I sure miss my grandpa and if I can donate and help save someone else from this terrible Disease it’s what I am going to do. Would you join me and don’t to this cause please.
Homeowner Dave Kulesz started a neighborhood tradition when he lit up his property with hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights. Neighboring homes got into the fun and now attract visitors from miles around. Kulesz uses the exposure to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease, which he lost his mother to. There is a sign in his front yard encouraging people to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association. You can see the lights every night from 5:45-11 pm. You can find them at Rushing Meadow Court in Dalworthington Gardens.
Montego Road, Ridgmar neighborhood, west Fort Worth, now-December 31st.
When attending this event, you could leave early and stop in to Ridgemar Mall for more of your Christmas Shopping and have dinner inside or outside Ridgemar Mall. Then if there is time after you see all the Christmas Lights come back for a movie in their Theater at the Mall.
The Montego Road Christmas Show project, more than 15 years strong, takes an entire street to pull off. Two residences (mirror images of each other) comprise the main program, with two more “support homes” flanking them and curb lights of 12 other homes leading the way to the main event. This show of more than 125,000 lights is fully choreographed to Christmas music. Which can be heard on an FM radio station in the car or via outdoor speakers and lasts about 30 minutes.
The event begins at 6 pm and runs until midnight each night. To find this display, exit Interstate 30 at Ridglea/Ridgmar Blvd. and go north. The streets are in alphabetical order until you reach Montego Road. The display begins there, at Ridgmar Blvd., and continues West until the 1100 block of Montego Road.
Dangnabbit David works tomorrow night and so does my sister so Charlie and I will not be able to attend Festivus but that doesn’t mean we can’t come another night to see the Homes Decorated for the Holiday. Although, if you go tonight and wouldn’t mind us tagging along let us know.
You can pick any night to drive around Fairmount and see Historic Bungalows lit festively for the Season. But the best night of all is Festivus, the annual celebration and Holiday lights tour. This event will take place from 6-9 pm Saturday, December 11. Watch the Historic district’s Facebook page for more information as plans develop.
It’s sad that they will not have Candlelight Christmas in Ryan Place this year but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still visit to see the other homes they will have decorated for Christmas.
The gorgeous Historic homes in this grand Fort Worth neighborhood get illuminated in spectacular fashion, as do the long walks that lead up to them. The beloved Candlelight Christmas in Ryan Place will not take place this year, but a drive through the neighborhood to see the stately homes dressed for the Holidays is worth it.
Cultural District
For those that aren’t familiar with the Culture District this is off Montgomery Street in Fort Worth which covers the Museums including the Modern Arts Museum and the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. If you go early enough you could go inside the Museums and then come out to see the Christmas Lights.
Come see the marvelous Modern Lights around the Modern Art Museum your starting point, but drive through the Museum district, then through some of the old neighborhoods across the bricks of Camp Bowie, and you’ll see grand homes dressed and ready to dazzle for the holidays.
Ridglea Hills
I’ve never been here but Charlie and David are wanting to work on there Photography skills and this sounds like the perfect place for them to go and take pictures not only of Christmas Lights, but the Lake and the Ducks. I wonder were we could park and walk through the display at. If you’ve been here before do you know were?
Folks who take walks and visit the ducks along Luther Lake in this Westside Fort Worth neighborhood eagerly anticipate the arrival of the Holiday lights on about 30 surrounding homes. The lights reflect in the water of the 10-acre lake, making for some pretty spectacular photo and video opps on clear nights. The best place to see them is along the bridge at Clayton Road.
Before we go check out this display, I plan on purchasing the book “The Night Before Christmas in Texas That Is” and when we get home, I will make Hot Chocolate and Charlie and I will sit down to read the book and discuss what we say while looking at Christmas Lights.
The annual Season of the Glenbrook Christmas display in these 76021 neighborhoods will run through Friday, December 31st. You will drive through the neighborhood while they read “The Night Before Christmas in Texas That Is” and view sparkling and festive light displays. You will find them at Cummings Drive and Brookside Court. You can keep up with them through there Facebook page.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
