I wanted to share a new addition to our Christmas Gift Guide 24: A Kid’s Guide to Backyard Birds by Eliza Berkowitz (Author), Nicole LaRue (Illustrator) I received a copy of in exchange for this review. Inside this post is my affiliate links. If you click on the link and make a purchase I will make a small portion from the products you purchased.
A Kid’s Guide to Backyard Birds has the prettiest Bird on the cover or the book that looks like a hard-back book but when you pick the book up it feels like a paper back book but it’s so sturdy the book will not fall apart. The cover can even be wiped clean from sticky little hands.
I enjoyed the illustration and how the Author reminds us to go outside, keep our eyes peeled and our eyes open because every time we leave home we have the opportunity to see Birds around us. The Author has reminded us to do a DIY project and to make a Treat for the Birds which will get kids off electronics. If your #Homeschooling your children could be done in your #Art Classes.
The Author teaches us 4 ways to identify a Bird which was a #teaching moment for my family. The Author gives us a list of items we may want when #Bird watching I will purchase these items for Charlie and I for Christmas because we love Bird Watching. Would you like to join us?
Then the Author goes into what types of Birds we might see including Red Bellied-Woodpecker my favorite Bird that I used to live outside our Trailer and would talk to me in the morning. I sure miss him. I can’t wait to go to the Park today with Charlie and to take our book to see what Birds we see. Would you like to come with us?
Each page gives us facts on the Birds which Charlie and I enjoyed learning. In the back of the book is a place to make notes of the Birds we seen. As well as a page on conservation and how we can help protect the Birds. Along with a Glossary we could use used in our Homeschool #Spelling Class.
