“I’m a big fan of books that teach kids about Hockey  and more importantly about the value of accepting those who may be different and working together because it’s important to lead by example and treat everyone with the same respect.” —Claude Giroux, Captain, Philadelphia Flyers

Based on true stories, Drop the Puck series celebrates sports-loving children of all types and abilities, as readers follow the story of a group of  kids in fictional Hockeytown, USA, who bond and  grow together, united by their shared love of Hockey.

Drop the Puck has inspired and delighted children not only in the US but Canada, and has many fans in the NHL,  including past and present Stanley Cup players! The series was created by author Jayne J. Jones Beehler with the goal of acclimating young Hockey fans to those players – and fans – with disabilities.

Releasing September 7, 2021:

It’s Hockey Season Ages 7-11

It’s Hockey Season, the first book in the series, follows the story of two brothers, Blaine and Cullen; Cullen is the all-star team captain and Blaine, who has Down syndrome, is the team manager. Through their adventures, young Hockey lovers will not only learn what it means to be a good sport and respect others but also begin to understand the challenges their disabled peers may have to deal with on a daily basis.

Hooray for Hockey Day! Ages 7-11

The adventures of Cullen and Blaine continue in Hooray for Hockey Day! Along the way, the brothers make new friends, including Ann, who has Down Syndrome, and Aiden, who only has one leg. Hooray for Hockey Day! Which will teach young readers lessons about friendship, diversity, inclusion, and teamwork as  they work to make “Hockey Day” an official State Holiday.

Hockey Every Day, Every Way Ages 7-11

Hockey Every Day, Every Way introduces readers to Lila and Makenna. Like any kid, Lila’s afraid she won’t fit in. But, before long, she finds out that her fellow hockey players will make her feel welcome and accepted. These new characters are inspired by real-life Hockey players and fans with Cerebral Palsy.
