I thought I would being you more Christmas Events in DFW, Texas: Rowlett, Texas. Rowlett is one Town I don’t remember ever visiting but it’s time to change that. Look at all the Christmas Events there hosting for its Community. This is the type of Town I would like to live in. How about you?

 Holiday Main Street Fest and Parade 

Get ready for a festive celebration like no other! Join us for the Holiday Main Street Fest and Parade on Saturday, December 7th, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Rowlett Downtown Green. This magical evening will be filled with holiday cheer, delicious food, and unique crafts, all leading up to our spectacular Parade of Lights and the annual tree lighting countdown to end the night.

The Holiday Main Street Fest will feature an array of holiday craft and food vendors offering handmade ornaments, unique gifts, and delicious treats for all to enjoy. Watch as the Parade of Lights brightens up Main Street, bringing holiday spirit and joy to the entire community. Plus, hop on the trackless train to experience the magic of the evening in a fun, festive way. It’s the perfect way to kick off the season, soak in the holiday atmosphere, and make lasting memories. 12 Days of Christmas Rowlett

Join us for a merry month of holiday fun this December. All events and activities are FREE for all to enjoy!

Friday 12/13 – Nightmare before Christmas Movie Screening – Downtown Green – 6 – 8 pm 

    Bring a blanket or a chair and join us for a magical Friday the 13th screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas to kickoff the 12 Days of Christmas on the outdoor screen on the green. Experience Tim Burton’s iconic tale of Jack Skellington’s journey from Halloween Town to Christmas Town.

    Saturday 12/14 – Gingerbread House Decorating – Downtown Green – 11 am 

      Celebrate the holiday season and utilize your building skills by creating a gingerbread house that Hansel and Gretel would love. Library staff will provide the sweet supplies, you just supply your creativity.  One kit per family while supplies last.

      Sunday 12/15 – Ornament Decorating – Downtown Green – 1-3 pm 

        Join us downtown to create an ornament for the Arts and Humanities Commission’s Christmas tree and one for your home.  Wooden ornaments, paint markers, crayons, and stickers will be provided while supplies last.   

        Monday 12/16 – Onesie Workout with FIT with Daniel – Downtown Green – 7 pm

          Get cozy and active at the Onesie Workout with FIT with Daniel! This fun, all-abilities session combines fitness and comfort as you move, stretch, and sweat in your favorite onesie or holiday attire. Perfect for all skill levels—bring energy and smiles!

          Tuesday 12/17 – Holiday Storytime – Downtown Green – 6 pm 

            Gather around for a heartwarming and festive storytime with Mrs. Claus as she reads her favorite magical Christmas tales and shares holiday cheer for all to hear.

            Wednesday 12/18 – Holiday Recital Night – Downtown Green – 6-8 pm 

              Celebrate the season with captivating musical and dance performances by the Rowlett High School Varsity Drill/Dance Team, Rowlett Dance Academy. and Kids Who Rock. It’s sure to be a festive evening of talent and cheer for all ages!

              Thursday 12/19 – Pet Portraits – Downtown Green 6-8 pm – Preregistration required, limited availability. Sign up here. 

                Bring your furry friends for adorable photos with a festive backdrop. You’ll leave with a printed picture perfect for creating cherished keepsakes and seasonal memories. Suggested donation to Rowlett Animal Services requested. 

                Friday 12/20 – Letters to Santa – Downtown Green – 6-8 pm 

                  Naughty or Nice, it doesn’t matter, bundle up and come and join us downtown for an evening of writing letters to Santa! When you are done, drop them in the big red mailbox to send them to the North Pole. The mailbox will also be available at the Rowlett Community Centre throughout the duration of the 12 days if you have more mail to send to the big guy.

                  Saturday 12/21 – Breakfast with Santa – Rowlett Community Centre – 9 -10:30 am – Preregistration required, limited availability. Sign up here.                            

                    HO HO HO! Santa is making a quick stop in Rowlett for a festive morning filled with holiday cheer, breakfast treats and a special visit from Santa himself! Children will have the opportunity to share their Christmas wishes with Santa and take memorable photos. This enchanting experience is perfect for families looking to create lasting holiday memories. Space is limited, last day to register is 12/18/24.

                    **Please make sure to register everyone in your family that will be attending ages 2 and up.**

                    Sunday 12/22 – Ugly Sweater Disco Skate – Downtown Green 5-8 PM 

                      Show off your tackiest holiday attire while grooving to seasonal and throwback beats on the rink. A night of festive fun and retro vibes! Skate rental and ice skating is free for all to enjoy throughout the month of December.

                      Monday 12/23 – Jingle and Mingle Bingo – Downtown Green – 6-8 pm 

                        There was a Santa who had an Elf and BINGO was his name O! Grab your family for a night of come and go BINGO fun and prizes under the big white tent.  

                        Tuesday 12/24 – Light up Rowlett – Self – Guided Tour and Selfie Contest Winners Announced

                          Follow the map to see the most festive and decked out houses in Rowlett. We’ll also announce the winners of our selfie contest – don’t forget to share your photos of all the holiday fun you’re having on our Facebook page!

                          FREE ICE SKATING THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF DECEMBER

                          For the first time, the City of Rowlett is partnering with the Dallas Stars to bring the community an outdoor ice-skating rink featuring real ice. Conveniently located on Martin Drive between Coyle Street and Main Street, next to Downtown Green, the rink will be open throughout December, offering residents the opportunity to create unforgettable holiday memories. Best of all, the City is providing free admission and skate rentals to ensure everyone can join in on the fun. See the schedule for operating hours/times (weather permitting) and more information. 

                          HOLIDAY SELFIE CONTEST 

                          Share all the holiday fun you’re having with us throughout the month of December! Take a photo at one of our photo spots in front of City Hall or at any of our holiday events and submit your photos on the pinned post on our Facebook page. A few lucky winners will be drawn at random on 12/24 to win prizes!

                          Christmas Trees on Main Street

                            We invite businesses, organizations, boards, and non-profits to participate in this year’s Christmas Trees on Main event and help us decorate Downtown Rowlett with holiday cheer! Showcase your creativity by designing a festive Christmas tree to be displayed from December 2 through December 31, spreading joy to our community all Season long. 

                          The submission period runs from October 1 to November 15, and installation will take place between November 20 and December 2. Let’s come together to make this year’s Christmas Trees on Main a dazzling celebration of the holiday spirit!
