Lightscape at Fort Worth Botanic Garden– November 22, 2024 – January 5, 2025

It’s called an international sellout sensation, Lightscape, is returning to the 120-acre Fort Worth Botanic Garden for its third consecutive year with an even longer trail, 20+ all-new illuminated installations, revamped pricing, and more than one million holiday lights, making the 2024 Lightscape the grandest and brightest yet.

Running November 22 through January 5, 80 percent of Lightscape will be new and reimagined for the 2024 holiday season. Tickets are required, visit FWBG.org for more information.

Gift of Lights– November 28, 2024 – January 5, 2025

The Gift of Lights returns to Texas Motor Speedway featuring a two-mile drive through two million lights. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Speedway Children’s Charities – Texas Chapter. Visit GiftsofLightsTexas.com for more information and hours of operation.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is bringing the holiday spirit by decorating its many trees with thousands of lights. Guests are welcome to walk the grounds after sunset, the lights will be on until midnight. The museum offers free admission until 8 p.m. on Fridays. The Museum closes most days before dark. Cooks Children’s Hospital: Holiday Extravaganza

We are excited to announce that this year’s Holiday Extravaganza and Fireworks Show will be in person on in front of the medical center. We invite all Cook Children’s employees and their families to join us for a fun evening of festivities including a Santa visit, performances, holiday treats, and the annual lighting of the Christmas tree.

Schedule of Events:

3-5 p.m.: Santa visit and pictures in the South Pole (South lawn.) Those who would like to visit with Santa are encouraged to bring an infant toy, Lego kit or a package of underwear for kids or adults.  \This is greatly appreciated by our patients and Child Life staff.  

Many toys, Legos and other gifts can be conveniently found and purchased in our own Cook Children’s stores—The Enchanted Castle Gift Shop and Build-a Bear at the Fort Worth medical center, Under the Peaks in the Dodson Specialty Building, and My First Rodeo in Prosper. Under the Peaks will have a pop up shop during the event!

Line closes at 4:45p.m.

3-6 p.m.:  Outdoor games, activities, and refreshments. Join Child Life, Food and Nutrition, Build a Bear, and Mirror Mirror Hair and Nail Salon for games and activities! Some items are available for purchase (cash and card accepted).

5 p.m.:  Live Stage performances.

Shortly after 6 p.m. – Tree Lighting and Fireworks Show.

Event Parking: 

Please help us keep the 7th Street garage open for patients.

If you are working at Cook Children’s on Dec. 9, please continue to park in the garage you normally park in while here. 

If you are going to Cook Children’s for the event, please park in either the 901 or 8th Avenue and Terrell garages.   We also have several surface lots on Pulaski and Humbolt that will be available for parking on the day of the event.
