As a child did you read books?

The Mommies Reviews

I have a question for you as a child did you read books? Or did you hate reading like so many of us do? I have always been an avid reader, and I tried to instill my love of reading into my children. I came by my love of reading naturally as my dad is the same way. He still understands every day, and he loves Westerns. Especially books by Louis Lamour. Suzzane, she hated reading as a child, but it was because she struggled with learning so much.

My ex and I enrolled her in Sylvan for math and reading, and it was the best thing we could have done for Suzzane. Once she finished the course and found she could read anything she wanted and wouldn’t struggle with it. She also became an avid reader and always had a book with her.

I loved this as it allowed me to share my love of reading with Suzzane. I shared books I read as a child to her. One series of books Suzzane and I loved and couldn’t get enough of was Junie B. Jones. Charlie reads these books as well and even though he says they are more for girls. Charlie doesn’t want his friends to know that we understand books about girls. There have been times when we are in the store, he finds a new story about Junie B. Jones and asks for it.

With school getting underway I wanted to share with you there is a newsletter for Junie B. Jones fans and several books out about the school that you might like to check out. I plan on getting each of them for Charlie to read at home in the evenings.
