Checkered Past Winery Presents Wine and Magic

My family attended Wine and Magic brought to us by Trigg Watson last weekend. This event was hosted by Checkered Past Winery before I accepted I asked if Chalie would be able to attend the event because it takes place in a pub and I was told it would be fine as long as children were with there parents.

I would like to let you know we did have trouble locating the event as it’s down a small alleyway even with the directions Trigg had sent out. Once we found the Venue we were able to park on the street and walk down to the corner where the Venue is and it sits next door to a Coffee Shop and Charlie noticed a sign pointing us to the Venue so I knew we were going the correct way.

All three of us walked into Checkered Past Winery and I had fun looking at the Art or decorations on the wall. The lady at the cash register asked if we were there for  Wine and Magic. I let them know we were and they escorted us to the back. We checked in and they showed us to our seats. As we settled in the manager came and introduced himself to us and asked if we would like to be up front.

Even though the seats we had were fine for David and Charlie as we were sitting on Bar Stools I opted to move up front as I have trouble seeing things that are far away and I didn’t want to wear my glasses unless I had to because at times they give me a headache.

We settled into our seats and the Waitress took our order and it was fun discussing all the Wines and Beers with David and waiting to see what he would choose as he loves Wine more than Beer. David decided he would like to try Dallas Blonde and he loved the flavor and can’t wait to order this Craft Beer again.

Charlie asked for a Dr. Pepper which was one of the Soda’s Checkered Past Winery carries and I asked Charlie if he wanted anything to eat but he didn’t and I couldn’t talk him into a Dessert as he didn’t want to eat one in front of me since I am on a diet and trying not to eat Sweets.

I asked for an Iced Tea and I was surprised when they brought me a bottle of Tea from The Republic of Tea. I liked the flavor of the tea and it was enough to last me the entire night which surprised me because usually, I will go through two or three glasses of tea even though I shouldn’t.

Charlie enjoyed the way Trigg introduces himself using a speaker called Alexia.  Charlie has heard of Alexia through tv and he has been asking if we would purchase one for our home and now that I saw it in person and how it works I just might order us one. I wish you could have heard Charlie when Alexa was accidentally knocked off the table.

Trigg tried to fix Alexai to make sure she hadn’t died and I am happy to report she is still working. Thank Although Charlie says Alexia most likely had a headache from the fall off the table like him she was ready to get up and keep on working.

I was amazed when Trigg began the Wine and Magic Show and how quiet and still Charlie became and that he didn’t even breathe as he watched each of the feats Trigg did. David also was amazed and I could see he was surprised at the illusions happening before us and he didn’t want to leave when the show was over.

In fact, both David and Charlie let me know they wanted to stay and watch the second show. Although David had to be at work at 3 am the next morning so we went ahead and left. Although I wish I had stayed around a bit longer because Charlie would have been able to meet Trigg in person. Which gives us more reasons to return in the future.

For me, there were times I had chills from the video Trigg showed us showcasing his life and his grandfather as it reminded me of my childhood and my Cousin who was a magician. The information he shared about his grandfather really touched me and he sounded like an incredible man and one I would have liked meeting.

I laughed as I watched the signs of amazement on the faces of the audience. I fell in love with Trigg not only as a person but a Magician/ Illusionist because of the kindness he exuded to everyone and the love of magic.

For me, Checkered Past Winery was the perfect place for Wine and Magic and you could tell Trigg was right at home here and everyone loved him and his show. I can’t wait to go back and watch other events happening there as well as having dinner there.

I believe Checkered Past Winery the perfect date night go-to place or a Girls Night Out Event or even for a Blogger Event, I would like to put together in the near future. David let me know he thinks it is the perfect place to host Corporate Events and have Trigg perform during the event.

I would love to have one day just to walk through the neighborhood and check out all the businesses and to look at the Art throughout the City as I fell in love with the buildings because they are old and remind me of Lofts.

While waiting for David to check out a Pizza Resturant he saw I found a Courtyard where I was able to sit down and just enjoy the beautiful evening and watch both David and Charlie walking around. I loved being able to watch people walk and talk or ride bikes and Scooter through the neighborhood.

My family can’t wait to return and have dinner then rent a Bike or Scooter which was on sale on the streets to spend some time in a new City without electronics. For parents homeschooling, Trigg Watson Wine and Magic will make a wonderful addition to our classroom because Charlie has decided he wants to take magic classes and he has asked for a magician for his Birthday Party.

My family was given complimentary tickets to come to the event but the thoughts in this review are all mine and my families.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
