The other day Granny Sherry asked Charlie if he could Vacuum her car out and help her buy groceries. Because her knee was bothering her and she didn’t know if she would be able to reach everything she needed.
I was working and had planned on staying home while Charlie helped Granny. Which would have given them time together. Although Charlie and Granny asked me if I wanted to go with them.
I stopped what I was doing and got dressed and we headed to the Car Wash. I helped Charlie clean and vac um the car. Once we finished we headed up to Kroger’s.
Granny let Charlie know what all she needed. Charlie went to gather everything for Sherry while she looked at the Fruit. Then we checked out and I thought she was taking us home.
But Charlie let Granny know we was going to go home with her to bring the groceries in and put them up. While she sat down and rested. Sherry let us know she appreciated that.
We finished Sherry let us know she needed to eat before she took us home because her Diabetes levels was dropping. Charlie and I could have walked home while she ate but we didn’t want to leave Sherry when she wasn’t feeling well.
While she was making her sandwich she asked Charlie if he wanted one and we could tell Sherry didn’t want to eat by herself. Charlie said yes, he would like a sandwich.
I let Sherry know I could make it so she could go and eat. But she wouldn’t hear of that and made both Charlie and I a sandwich. I got out the drinks and we had a picnic lunch in the living room.
Charlie still talks about our impromptu lunch and ask me when we can go have lunch with Sherry again. I’m hoping well be able to this week because this is what memories are made of.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
