Back when Charlie was seeing a counselor. He suggested we pick up a Hasbro Connect 4 Game for Charlie. When Granny Sherry head this she dropped us off Connect 4 for us.
I’m so glad she did because Charlie loves playing Connect 4 and Charlie will get the game out and play by himself if I’m busy. As I watch Charlie playing Connect 4 I see him focusing and concentrating more. Charlie actually sits down and sites still and he will listen to David and I. Which he has problems with but that is part of having ADHD.
I didn’t know when Charlie got Connect 4 that we would end up Homeschooling Charlie but since we’ve started I’m so glad we had Connect 4 because we’ve been using Connect 4 use it for Math.
Charlie has even used Connect 4 for learning colors and we can use the checkers for counting and drawing pictures using the checkers. Charlie even has made up Stories about the game.
If you have a child that suffers from ADHD I would suggest you check out Connect 4. If your Homeschooling your child why not use Connect 4 in the classroom?
Or you can bring Connect 4 out on Family Game night or in Free Time if you allow your children to have a Free Day in Homeschool which we do once a month on Friday.
Connect 4 says the game was created for children 6+ I think younger children could play Connect 4 if adults help them. With Charlies cousins who are younger as long as Charlie sits down with them and show them what to do I can see them playing Connect 4.
W ith Daisy being so little I would always want a adult around because I wouldn’t want her to put the Checkers in her mouths because there small enough she might choke.
Challenge a friend to disc dropping fun with the classic game of Connect 4! Drop your red or yellow discs in the grid and be the first to get 4 in a row to win.
If your opponent is getting too close to 4 in a row, block them with your own disc! Whoever wins can pull out the slider bar to release all the discs and start the fun all over again! Connect 4 and all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro.
Reading Class;
Have the players sit down and help you put Connect 4 together. Then pull the instructions out and read the rules to everyone. Then ask them questions to make sure they understand what is going to happen. Then have them ask you questions to make sure you understand what is going to happen and why.
