David took Tuesday morning off to spend with Charlie and I on our Homeschooling Field Trips. When we left home I reminded Charlie and David to keep a open mind.
I reminded David he could help put together Lesson Plans and Unit Studies and Charlie would be able to pick out the subjects he wanted to study. I also reminded Charlie and David to be thinking of other places we could visit that would go along with what we would be seeing.
Our first stop was the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame & Museum. Before we left I stopped by the desk to ask some questions the lady asked if we would be visiting the Cattle Rustlers Museum as well.
I let the clerk know we didn’t know it was there and hadn’t been invited to visit that Museum. I was amazed when she called and got me in to speak to the Educator.
I enjoyed hearing all the features of the Cattle Rustlers Museum and why they created the Museum. Finding out they host classes and do Crafts here intrigued me and I can’t wait to bring my niece and nephew back.
We walked around and she showed me the Library and all the hats on the wall. As well as the wall of Artifacts and I can’t wait to return to see if they have anything on Lance Frost.
The Museum
The Cattle Raisers Museum is located on the second floor of the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
The Cattle Raisers Museum is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the vital history and science of the cattle industry. The experience tells the story of the cattle industry from its origins among the West’s early Spanish settlers, through the heyday of the legendary drovers, all the way to today’s modern range technology. The exhibits show the important role Texas and Southwestern cattle raisers play in protecting natural resources as frontline stewards of land, livestock and wildlife.
Cattle Raisers Museum and the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History can be found on the Will Rogers Memorial Complex located in Fort Worth’s Cultural District which is also home to the Kimbell Art Museum, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, the Amon Carter Museum, the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame.
