It’s Saturday, and time for Music in mine and Charlies classroom. I asked Charlie to check out this new website called Carnegie Hall: The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. We thought you might like to check Carnegie Hall: The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra out as well.
If you’ve used Carnegie Hall: The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra in the past what did you think of this website and why? Or if you would like to check into Carnegie Hall: The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra let us know why.
Recommended Website:
Age Range: 8-18 (Grades 3-12, with parental supervision; non-readers will need assistance)
Carnegie Hall: The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, sponsored by Carnegie Hall, offers a free, interactive, animated game based on Benjamin Britten’s composition, The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.
Children will learn about the instruments of the orchestra including the brass, strings, wind, and percussion instruments.
When you get to the site you must register (with a nickname and password) to play the game. You’ll learn about a symphony orchestra stage, the placement of the instrument families on the stage, and learn to identify the instruments and hear how they sound.
I can’t wait until Charlie gets up to visit Carnegie Hall: The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra with me so we can play these Games together. I know once Charlie’s friends her about Carnegie Hall: The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra they will also want to play the Games with Charlie and I. Allowing us all to learn together which is perfect for Homeschooling Music classes.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
