As we all get ready to begin school this year, I wanted to talk to you about a resource you can use in your Homeschooling classroom. The resource is called Busy Bags.
Busy bags are simple activities stored in a bag for toddlers or preschoolers, so they are always ready to go! They are engaging activities that your child can do independently. They are great for playing during quiet time at home or to keep them busy while waiting at the doctor’s office.
Before you ask if Busy Bags are only for Toddlers or Preschoolers the answer is no, children of any age can use a Busy Bag. You would just need to tailor the bag to your child’s age.
Before you ask me where you would get a busy bag, I would like to let you know you can make Busy Bags for your students. Or purchase Busy Bags online.
All you need to do is type in Busy Bags on Google and it will pull up places you can purchase Busy Bags from. As well tutorials on how to create Busy Bags.
I would like to also let you know there are Busy Bags Swaps where you can make and swap busy bags with other parents. I’m sure if you search on Facebook, you can find groups.
What is a busy bag?
A busy bag is a bag that contains a reusable activity that your child can use on their own with little supervision or instruction. Busy Bags are meant to be engaging and to help keep a young learner busy and occupied.
Busy bags are ideal for use while Mom is busy, cooking or teaching older students, they can be used while you wait for appointments, or traveling in the car.
Here is a Video that tells you more about Busy Bags. If you would like even more ideas head to Pinterest or YouTube and type in Busy Bags for Preschoolers or Toddlers and lot of post will pop up.
I have one piece of advice I would like to offer you and that is not to get overwhelmed or spend a fortune making Busy Bags because you can find a lot of supplies for the bags at your local Dollar Store or Greenbacks.
Here is a site where you can find Busy Bags for sale:
