I would like to share a Homeschool Must-Have that begins with the Letter K. For us we have a set of kitchen utensils and pots and pans for Charlie to use in his Homeschool Cooking Class.
As well as Kitchen towels and bowls, measuring spoons and a set of Utensils we picked up at the local Dollar Store to use when were doing Crafts or Science Experiments.
These products aren’t a must have because you can use what you have in the kitchen but having everything in Totes for these classes made it easier on my family.
Now that we have the school resources out of the way lets get to cooking this morning. For our recipe beginning with the Letter K I thought you might want to make Kettle Corn.
If not then you might make a Key Lime Pie. Charlie says what ever you do when you go grocery shopping don’t forget to pick up Kit Kat Ice cream. Now, if you will excuse me I think Charlie and I will take a quick field trip and pick up Krispy Cream Doughnuts. If you were here you could go with Charlie and I.
Kettle Corn
Ingredients
¼ cup vegetable Oil
¼ cup white Sugar
½ cup unpopped Popcorn Kernels
Directions:
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once hot, stir in the sugar and popcorn. Cover, and shake the pot constantly to keep the sugar from burning. Once the popping has slowed to once every 2 to 3 seconds, remove the pot from the heat and continue to shake for a few minutes until the popping has stopped. Pour into a large bowl, and allow to cool, stirring occasionally to break up large clumps.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
