If you look at the cover of the book it might remind you of the Westerns that was on TV when I was a child. But this Western tale includes mechanical horses and magnetized trains and LGBTQIA+ characters which we would never have found in Westerns from out childhood. The more I read of the story I came to the conclusion that is isn’t just a Western but more of a steampunk novel.
If I had a choice I am not sure I would have finished the story but because I wanted to see what happened I did and for me it was okay but not a book I would read again. But the more I got into the story the more I thought David might enjoy the story all expect for the LGBTQIA+ characters which might turn David off.
Blazing Ambition: Great Yonder #1 is the first book in the series the second book in this series, is Chaos & Consequences and even though I might not read the book that shouldn’t stop you from checking out these books. One thing I did like was the drawings the Author including with descriptions in the book which helped hold my interest.
About the book:
The Great Yonder is a lawless land where money talks and the almighty guilder reigns supreme. While corporations and City-States vie for control, outlaws with strange electromagnetic weapons known as chaos casters fight over the scraps.
