February celebrates Black History Month. This is an annual observance originating in the United States. I would like to let you know not only is February referred to Black History Month but also African-American History Month.
Black History Month has received official recognition from governments in the US and Canada. Even being recognized in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
Black History Month began as a way of remembering important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. Black History Month is celebrated in February in the US and Canada.
Did you know Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom Black History Month is observed in October? Charlie and I didn’t know that but plan on researching how they celebrate it later on.
Charlie and I will be studying Black History Month and important people during February. While online I found resources we could use. As I put together my Lesson Plans/ Unit Studies I thought you might want to check the resources out as well.
