When Charlie tells me he doesn’t have a book to read and we are beginning a new Seamester I head to Half Price Books to try and find a book I think Charlie would enjoy. Yesterday while in the store I found a new author David Walliams and the book he published called Billionaire Boy as soon as I read the back cover of the book. I knew it would be the perfect book for Charlie.
We will beginning Billionaire Boy this evening and I plan on reading for 20 minutes and then having Charlie read for 30 minutes each night so he always makes the 100’s his teacher will give Charlie for turning in his reading log. I just hope Charlie and I enjoy Billionaire Boy as much as I believe we will as there are other books in this series I would like to get for Charlie.
A hilarious, touching and extraordinary new fable from David Walliams, number one bestseller and one of the fastest growing children’s author across the globe. Joe has a lot of reasons to be happy. About a billion of them, in fact. You see, Joe’s rich. Really, really rich. Joe’s got his own bowling alley, his own cinema, even his own butler who is also an orangutan. He’s the wealthiest twelve-year-old in the land. Yes, Joe has absolutely everything he could possibly want. But there’s just one thing he really needs: a friend…
I have a surprise for Charlie the next book I plan on purchasing for Charlie is also from David Walliams and the new book is called Gangsta Granny which is how both of Charlie’s grandmother’s act at times. Or I might get Charlie Awful Auntie so he can see how good his Aunt Debbie is to him even if he doesn’t get to see her as much as he would like. David saw Bad Dad and he let me know he would like for me to purchase it and to read this book with him and Charlie.
