David and I stopped by Walmart’s for Charlie and I to pick up a novel to read. Even though Danielle Steel had a new novel out I didn’t purchase that novel because I wanted to see which novels Half Price Books had on there shelves.
On Sunday we got up and drove to Half Price Books. Where Charlie could pick up a couple books and a game to play on his Game System. While there I found Betrayal published by Danielle Steel,
I chose Betrayal because this was a novel published by Danielle Steel. I didn’t remember reading Betrayal. The plot intrigued me and I wanted to see what would happen because from the cover I knew Betrayal would be a novel I couldn’t put down.
As I was looking through other novels Danielle Steel had written Charlie wandered over. We began to look through the books. Charlie said I should purchase Betrayal.
I asked Charlie why and he said the cover to Betrayal was black and Charlie liked the picture of the Pink Heart on the front of the novel. I had to agree with Charlie that the picture captured my attention as well.
I was going to sit down yesterday and read Betrayal but we got busy cleaning the house. David said he would prepare dinner this evening so I wouldn’t be bothered and can read a chapter or two because David wants to know what happens in Betrayal.
In this riveting novel, Danielle Steel reveals the dark side of fame and fortune, when a renowned film director confronts an act of unimaginable treachery.
Betrayal
At thirty-nine, director Tallie Jones is a Hollywood legend, whose award-winning films enjoy both critical and commercial success. With no interest in the glitz of Los Angeles, Tallie centers her life on her work and her devoted inner circle: her family, her producing partner and live-in lover, and her longtime personal assistant and best friend.
As Tallie is in the midst of her most ambitious film yet, small disturbances begin to ripple through her world. An audit reveals troubling discrepancies in the records maintained by Tallie’s trusted accountant. Mysterious receipts hint at activities of which she has no knowledge. Soon it becomes clear that someone close to Tallie has been steadily funneling away enormous amounts of her money. After an escalating series of shattering revelations, Tallie must face the harsh truth behind her seemingly perfect life: that sometimes trust can be the greatest illusion of all.
