Being The Ricardos

The Mommies Reviews

Sometimes there is a movie trailer you see on TV that you know you just have to see. You count down the days until the movie arrives in the theater. You tell everyone you know about the movie and ask them if they want to see the Film with you.

For me this was Being The Ricardos which I wanted to see in memory of my daughter Suzzie who is one of Lucy’s biggest fans. Although, I wanted to see what they had to say about Lucy and Rickey. As well as Fred and Ethel. As well as share Ricky’s music with Charlie.

Even though I didn’t see the movie on the big screen like I wanted to I was able to watch Being the Ricardos in my own home. Which for me is easier with Covid still on the rise and Charlie not wanting to leave home. As well as David never being here to take us to the movies.

Although, the other night all three of us were home. I turned on the computer and clicked on my link to watch the movie. Before I knew it Charlie and David joined me in the office. With Popcorn being fixed in the background for me to snack on.

The movie began and I was glad Charlie hadn’t walked in yet as there was a scene that made me uncomfortable as they were having Sex on the Couch. Mind you you couldn’t see anything and there was no, nudity but you knew what was happening.

The movie went on and if you have small children you will not want them in the room when watching the film as there is a lot of cussing. At times I muted the film or walked out of the room. But this shouldn’t keep you from watching the movie because my thoughts may not be the same as yours.

As for the actors I personally didn’t care for the Actor playing Ricky because I didn’t think he looked like him. But again, this is my opinion, and you might feel different. Also, I wasn’t too crazy about the actress picked to play Lucy even though she did a okay job I didn’t think she looked like Lucy.

As for Fred I liked him a lot and he did look like Fred and was my favorite actor in the movie. Although, I liked Ethel a lot at well. But I didn’t like the way the movie showed she was treated but after talking to people I found out that was what happened in real life.

For true Luy fans I have seen a lot of negative reports on the Actors in this movie but don’t take anyone else’s words for seeing the movie or not. You need to see the film for yourself to make your own decisions. Because I do plan on watching it a second time because there were parts I would like to see again.

Including the outfits, they wore in the film and the music. While David wanted to see some of the scenes again including the cars in the movie. If you consider yourself a true, I Love Lucy fan then there isn’t much of that in here as the movie is more about Lucy and Ricky’s lives. Which Charlie and I will be studying in our Homeschool Drama Class.
