I was sent a copy of Bailey Bloom and the Battle of the Bug in exchange for a review. The thoughts in this review are mine and my families.
My family has been lucky during the Pandemonic when no, one wanted to get outside and be around each other we e able to because my husband and also my sister are Essential Workers.
Along with my neighbor Leslie and her husband Scott. When school shut down they needed someone to help Bradley with his homework even though his mom was allowed to work from home.
I’m not a Superhero like the girls in Bailey Bloom and the Battle of the Bug. but I wish I had had Bailey Bloom and the Battle of the Bug when Covid-19 began because I would have shared the task the girls did with Charlie and Bradley and they could’ve helped our neighbors out.
Not only that we could decorate the sidewalk in our public park. Bradly and Charlie could have collected chalk to leave in the park. With notes inviting families to join us in creating sunshine for families.
Our trailer complex is near a Government Housing complex for the elderly and disabled. A lot of them don’t have families. Charlie and Bradley could adopt these families.
Then we could do there shopping for them. As well as picking up med’s and running errands they need done. If our neighbors have dogs we could walk them if they didn’t want to go outside.
Charlie and his friend Bradley could mow and weed eat there yard. Then they could decorate there homes. If the elderly comes outside come outside they would know people care about them.
If you or someone you know is having issues about Covid-19 I hope you take the time to read Bailey Bloom and the Battle of Bug. Which will calm children down.
Charlie and I will be using words he learned in Bailey Bloom and the Battle of the Bug for our spelling class. As well as some of the pictures to re-create in our Art class. As well as sharing Bailey Bloom and the Battle of the Bug with there friends and family.
About:
How are small children dealing with the pandemic?
Bailey Bloom loves to play superheroes with her two best friends, Zoey and Rose. The three girls dream of a day when they can fly through the air, saving princesses in far-off lands. But when the girls learn that Coronavirus is spreading through their town, they quickly realize that they already have what it takes to be real-life superheroes as they help those in need.
A delightful celebration of friendship, kindness, and overcoming adversity, Bailey Bloom and the Battle of the Bug will empower and inspire hope in young readers during the pandemic and beyond. Parents can also use this book as a resource to facilitate discussions with their children about Covid-19, both in terms of what it is and how it is affecting them.
There are several children’s books on the market about Covid-19 but none like this. The book’s broader themes about kindness and being a helper during trying times will transcend the pandemic, but it’s also such a fun read that will help parents open up discussions with their children about Covid-19, both in terms of what it is and how it is affecting them.
