When Charlie was #Homeschooling he had a Home Economics Cooking Class and Charlie had to cook twice a week. Then on Sunday’s we would cook as a family. I wish I had Cooking Class, 10th Anniversary Edition: 73 Fun Recipes Kids Will Love to Make (and Eat!) when Charlie was taking the Cooking Class but it isn’t to late to use the book now.
If your Homeschooling your children or have a child who likes to cook you should check out this cookbook as soon as possible. Just make sure your not hungry because the illustrations will make you hungry and want to go shopping.
The Cookbook offers us 73 recipes covering welcoming to cooking class sharing rules, teaching us how to get our kitchen in order, kitchen vocabulary which can also be used in a Homeschoolers Spelling Class. Clean up which we all need to learn.
Breakfast Cafe teaches us how to make Cinnamon and Sugar for my breakfast Toast I love. There is even a Mix-and-Match Fruit Flower Garden for Charlie to make his Aunt and Grandmother. Bursting with Blueberry Muffins for his grandpa.
Chapter Three Lunch Lessons includes Homemade Peanut Butter my nephew Jason and I can make for our lunch. Chapter Four is Snack Attack and I don’t know about you but Charlie and I love love love snacks.
Charlie and I can’t wait to check out my Own microwave Popcorn for our movie nights. Would you like to join us? There is also a recipe for Easy-Peasy Applesauce. Chapter Five is Eat Your Veggies if only I could teach Charlie and David to do that. Charlie and I can’t wait to check out the recipes in Salad Dressing Factory and make the Homemade Ranch Would you like some?
Chapter Six is My First Dinners allowing parents to rest while children cook. I would like to have Super Sliders and David said he would like to have Fantastic Fish Tacos. Charlie can surprise his Aunt Debbie with Chessy Broccoli Soup.
The recipes are rated one spoon which can be done without a hot stover or knife. Two spoons means there is some pre-work, making this section a good place for a parents help. Three spoons which is where Charlie is involves cutting with sharp knives, using a oven or stovetop.
These recipes take more time to prepare. For someone just learning to cook they may want to work with a adult which Charlie still does at times. In the back of the book is stickers and labels, place cards so we can dress up our table.
Don’t forget to check out the Game Cards and Recipe Cards and if you run out of recipe cards you can use a Spiral Notebook or Index Cards to capture your children’s creations. Also, in the back of the book is a chat to show children how to convert recipe measurements.
