Back-To-School Gift Guide 23: Ruby and Lonely

The Mommies Reviews

School is back in Sesson for most children. At the end of the week, we will be wrapping up our Back-To-School Gift Guide 23. With today being Sunday I would like to share a new children\s book with you Ruby and Lonely I received a copy of in exchange for this review. Charlie and I read the book this morning and will be answering the discussion questions this week in our Homeschool Language Arts Class.

In the introduction to the book the author sends all the children of the world a note I enjoyed seeing. I hp you take the time to purchase a copy of RUBY AND LONELY, or to check a copy out at your local library and that you take the time to read not only the inscription but the note from the author in the back of the book.

Ruby is a little girl and the main character of RUBY AND LONELY, and she has a problem. No, one Ruby knew seemed to have a problem like hers. Ruby’s problems where she feels all alone and she didn’t like this feeling. Which I wouldn’t have as well. How about you? Then one day her teacher Mr. Garcia talked about all kinds of problems.

Mr. Garzia let the children know if they had a problem, they should examine it from all angles and give it a name. Ruby didn’t know how to examine her problem. After school Mr. Garzia let Ruby know, she could discuss her problem with him. Instead, she went on home and decided on the way home to name her problem Lonely.

Ruby went into her bedroom and addressed Lonely in front of the mirror Lonely didn’t respond. Then Ruby brough lonely to school with her. At lunch Ruby ate her lunch and watched the Birds with lonely. At home Lonely and Ruby read a comic book together. When her parents were busy Lonely and Ruby painted a Sunset.

When the Dog Loa was barking at Birds and chasing squirrels Lonely and Ruby listened to music and danced. One morning a new girl came to school. Ruby and Lucy asked her to play with them. After school they played with Lola. They made Cookies for the family and painted a portrait. Ruby and Loney was having a great time and she were happier inner sunshine came out of her.

Everyone noticed the difference in Ruby and the kids would ask her to play. Ruby asked her mom to do crafts with her and they had a lot of fun. I think I will ask Charlie to do crafts with me this afternoon in his Homeschool Art Class. Would you like to do crats with us? We ca even make cookies in Charlie’s Cooking Class to eat during arts and crafts.

Ruby asked her sister and brother to take her out for Pizza that weekend and they said yes. I would like to go with them. Would you like to come with us? Ruby asked her dad to read to her at night and he said yes. Loal even noticed the difference and would stay in Ruby’s room more. Ruby and Lonely weren’t spending all there time together and her life got fuller. Lonely knew that no, matter what happened in the future he would always be there for Ruby. Forever.

Charlie and I loved learning about Ruby and Lonely because at times we’ve felt this way and sometimes we still feel lonely but now we know how to change it and help ourselves, our friends and our family not feel lonely. For a field trip this week Charlie and I are going to look for someone that is lonely and invite them to lunch. Would you like to come with us?
