I would like to share a new children’s book with you. This new book is called Baby Ballers Venus and Serena Williams written by Bernadette Baille and illustrated by Marta Garatea. From Studio Fun International and Silver Dolphin Books.
Like a lot of people I’ve followed Venus and Serena Williams Tennis Career for years as they’ve been playing forever and a day it seems. Which is why I was excited to read Baby Ballers: Venus and Serena Williams. What surprised me was with the book sitting on my desk David opened the book up and began to read the story.
David said I’ve always admired how well these ladies played Tennis. Charlie heard David and asked who he was talking about. I let Charlie know it was Venus and Serena Williams. Then I was able to share Baby Ballers: Venus and Serena Williams with Charlie. I was amazed to learn Charlie didn’t know much about Venus and Serena which I thought he might have heard about them in school especially in his PE Classes when he went to Public School. This new book is going to lead to new lessons in our Homeschool Classes.
As well Charlie and I are going to our local park to play Tennis. Would you like to join us for a game or two of Tennis which we will finish with a couple games of Basketball Charlie said. I think Charlie is trying to kill David and I. LOL But this is where memories are made and how you can Homeschool your children and teach them the things they are interested in not what a school expects them to learn.
In the meantime, if you haven’t had the opportunity to check out Baby Ballers Venus and Serena Williams you should purchase this book as soon as possible. Let me tell you if you haven’t had the opportunity to see the book the cover will draw you in before you even open the book up to begin reading the story.
The colors pop and I like how they made the sisters stand apart through the different outfits they have on this will keep the little children from getting confused on which girl is who. If Tennis could be fun to play the cover of the book made it look like fun although its a lot of work and dedication. Which might surprise you since they have a smile on their faces. Would you like to join them in a game of Tennis? If so be prepared to lose because they are world champions Charlie said.
Charlie and I learned the girls are from Compton, California which is one of the States we will be studying in school this year. One day I would like to take a road trip and visit California. Would you like to go with me on the trip? Charlie and I loved learning their dad were the person who taught them to play tennis. Which reminded me of all the things my dad taught me and gave me time to miss my dad who is no, longer here. If your parents are here hug them and let them know how much you appreciate them.
Charlie and I will learn about Palm Beach which the sister’s moved to in our Homeschool. I wish we had lived in Palm Springs and had the opportunity to meet them when they were little girls Wouldn’t that have been fun? Next, they went to Paris and Sydney. Which gives us more states to study.
Charlie and learned the sisters had to play through pain which would teach us determination and to never give up no, matter what is happening in our lives. But can you imagine playing through pain? I would never make my children do that or my children. Would you do this to yourself or someone you love?
Then comes the Olympics. Could you imagine playing in the Olympics? Think of all the awards they won but all they had to endure. Do you think it was worth it? I love how they taught not only young black girls they could do anything they dreamed they could do but everyone who has ever followed their career.

About the Book:
The latest in our adorable Baby Ballers series focuses on the champion Williams sisters. Before they were serving up grand slam victories, Venus and Serena Williams were just two sisters growing up in Compton, California. Follow along as they go from learning tennis with their dad to winning Wimbledon!
Previous books in the series include Baby Ballers: Michael Jordan and Baby Ballers: Tom Brady.
I don’t know about you but I would love having both of the previous books. Michael Jordan would be for Charlie and Tom Brady for myself. Although, if I was to tell you the truth I wouldn’t be surprised if David and Charlie didn’t take those books from me.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
