Art Project assignment for Shark Week
I would like you to make a Diorama featuring none other – – SHARKs!!!
I want you to write out the steps that you took to put the Shark Diorama together from your supply list to the end of completion.
Draw out a rough draft of what you want your project to look like. (This is kind of like a blueprint of your project).
Your main shark and the focal point needs to be made out of an empty vegetable can.
Assemble the entire project on a 2 x 4 piece of wood 18″ long.
There need to be 4 other sharks smaller than the one out of the can. (TIP: never have even numbers…always have odds. example, 1, 3, 5, 7, etc).
You can make these out of paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, tissue paper, brown paper sacks, playdough (did you know you can make your own playdough?), etc. (use your imagination).
Include Ocean life in your diorama such as seaweed, school of fish, rocks, floating trash, people, etc. I will leave this up to you what you want to do. But there need to be at least 3 additional elements besides the Sharks.
You will paint the Sharks above. Be sure to include a backdrop of some sort. (a piece of material (an old curtain, a sheet, or something to give the illusion of water).
You will add the sharks to your Diorama with either sturdy sticks or small dowel rods (these can be found at Lowes or Home Depot). You might even find some at Wally World.
Be sure to use the proper adhesive. I think E6000 would be the perfect glue for this project (use it sparingly) and use it with parental oversight in a well-vented area.
Once you have finished your project in its entirety, let it completely dry.
