My family is excited to share a new addition to our Christmas Gift Guide 23: Around The World in 80 Dogs by Kristyna Litten (Author) which I received a copy of in exchange for this review.
As you all may or may not know my family are avid Dog lovers as well as some of our extended family which is why I’m excited to give Charlie Around the World in 80 Dogs although David would also love the new children’s book. I may need to purchase a second copy of the book for David as well. Would you also like a copy of this book?
I sat down this morning while David was working and Charlie was sleeping to browse through the book. I wish you could see all the illustrations which makes me want to go out and get another Dog. Which we do not need. in our homeschool when we study Dogs Charlie and I will be including “A tail of time: The evolution of man’s best friend. ” I love how the Author included ancient dogs which allowed Charlie and I to learn things we didn’t know.
Through the book we learned about guardians, Shepards and so much more. The Author even explained a dogs nose which will allow Charlie to get to know more about our dogs and what they do and why. We learn about working woofers including Beagles. Then we learn about search and rescue dogs.
If your looking for a dog to work then you should check out most employable dogs. We learn about therapy dogs which is what Charlie’s Dog Bear is. Do you have a therapy dog and if so what does the dog do. We learn how dogs become companions like Phoebie does. Now I have a question for you. Did you know dogs can be National Treasures?
make sure you check out “Dogs around the World”. When we begin our studies on States we can use Around the World in 80 Days as it touches on Alaska. For Science we can check out dog discoveries including Space. We learn about tiny Dogs which I wouldn’t mind having. How about you? When we study Queens and Kings we can check out Royal Dogs.
Make sure you check out the fascinating features of dogs. Did you know some dogs have fancy fur? Then there are rare dogs. Don’t forget to check out mixed dogs which is what Charlie’s dog Bear is. Then at the end of the book the Autho included fun facts Charlie and I had fun checking out. I hope you check out Around the World in 80 Dogs which is the perfect book for all dog lovers as well as children of all ages and even adults.
About the book:
What is the oldest breed of dog? Can dogs sniff out illnesses? Which breed has six toes?
Including a stunning central gatefold that opens out to reveal all 80 dog breeds and where they come from, this book is a visual celebration of the huge variety of dogs found across the world, from those you already know and love to those that may surprise you. As the book takes the reader on a journey around the world, it reveals dogs with the most important jobs, breeds with unusual features, record-breaking dogs and more.
Focus spreads will explore subjects such as the canine family, dogs’ superpower sense of smell, and how dogs became man’s best friend.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
