April Fool’s may have passed this year but you can still celebrate it through April’s Fool: Get Even or Die Trying. I would say this is a adventure/ suspenseful thriller showcasing the story of betrayal, revenge, and the consequences of one’s actions. The story centers around childhood best friends Omar and Allen, who are torn apart when they both sleep with the same girl.

I would like to forewarn you the story touches on themes of infidelity, deception, and manipulation and at times the book does become explicit and sensual, but the Author also highlights the moral conflicts that arise from betraying the ones we love. There is a lot of swapping with partners which kept me from sharing the book with my friends and family because I wouldn’t want to give them a book that might make them feel uncomfortable and before you ask, yes at times these scenes bother me but it didn’t keep me from reading this novel.

The two main characters are April and Omar. April is a young woman struggling with her mental health and addiction and I like how the Author brought these subjects to life. I understood how April felt in certain situations making me feel connected to her story. April meets Omar, who becomes her romantic interest and provides a source of stability in her life. But as their relationship goes on, they are both forced to confront their own troubles and past traumas, which leads them down separate paths. No, I am not going to tell you what happens next because you need to pick up your own copy of April’s Fool: Get Even or Die Trying to read.

About the Book:

Allen is always stuck in a tug of war between Ying and Yang – a married couple who can’t seem to agree on anything, especially when it’s time to decide who should live, and who has to die. Things take a turn for the worse when Allen loses the love of his life then learns that he has an incurable disease. As he struggles to stop himself from doing the unthinkable, Allen comes up with the ultimate plan to make all of his troubles go away. But when the time to put the wheels to his plan in motion comes, who will win – his good conscience or his bad conscience?

** MEANWHILE **

Olivia and Omar were off limits to one another, but they have fallen in love and are eager to spend the rest of the lives together. That is, until the murder of a dear friend threatens to rip their bond apart.

As Omar blames himself for his friend’s untimely death, Olivia struggles to help him hold it together when he spirals into a deep state of depression. To make matters worse, the newlywed couple are oblivious to the dangers of a woman from their past, who has targeted them and aims to turn their worlds upside down. April’s Fool is a twisted tale of betrayal and revenge that spans three years.

As you flip through the pages of this book, the moment of truth will hit you like a ton of bricks!

About the author: Anetta Tiquila

Anetta Tiquila pulls entries from her dream journal and turns them into full-length novels with plots that entertain, teach, and gives readers a glimpse into her wild imagination. Born in Stuttgart Arkansas, Anetta relocated to California at the age of seven, eventually discovering her love for writing by the age of fourteen.

Anetta writes (urban) fiction novels, but she aims to step outside of the box to write in other genres such as fantasy, self-help and romance. Most of her books fall into one of two collections: B.O.A.T.S (based on a true story), which are books based on true stories, and Dream catchers which are the books derived from her dream journal entries.

Anetta Tiquila (pronounced ‘I need a Tiquila’), labels her books as brain massages because of the way she implements the five senses, psychology, and other aspects of real life and fantasy in her stories. Currently, Anetta is working hard to establish her book publishing company A.T.E. Books, where she will feature books written by herself, and her three children, while simultaneously earning her Masters Degree, and ultimately her PHD in Sociology.

“My favorite thing to do is dream. My dreams take me on exciting adventures; Sometimes they are so vivid and intense in detail, that I often feel like they are either replays from my past lives, or Astral projections of alternative realities.”

Anetta takes pride in connecting people, places and things in order to encourage her readers to not only think outside of the box, but also to think big, dream big, and to take heed to the messages that she delivers in her books. When asked if she could give any advice to her readers, Anetta comments

“In your darkest moments, look at the moon – that is the light at the end of your tunnel. After all, skies the limit.”
