April 17 National Cheeseball Day #NationalCheeseballDay

The Mommies Reviews

David and I need to purchase groceries this week and I need to ask Charlie what type of snacks he would like including Chips, I was thinking of getting Cheese Puffs for me but today is April 17 National Cheeseball Day #NationalCheeseballDay and Charlie likes Cheese Balls so to save money and only purchase ne pack of Chips so things don’t get wasted I think I will get Charlie and I Cheese Balls. Before you ask David may eat some with us.

NATIONAL CHEESE BALL DAY ACTIVITIES

  1. Go cheesy — in a good way because chances are you already have at least some ingredients on hand, and the rest aren’t hard to find. Or throw Cheese Ball caution to the wind and improvise! The piece of Pepper Jack that’s too small to cover your plate of Nachos use it to create a Cheese Ball.
  2. Invite your friends and family over and create a Cheese ball-making party.

WHY PEOPLE LOVE NATIONAL CHEESE BALL DAY

  1. Cheeseballs start with a base of softened Cream Cheese. Then you add whatever strikes your fancy;. Next, you form the Cheese into a ball. If you ever used Play-Doh as a child, you got this. Then roll that ball into another ingredient, like chopped Herbs or chopped Nuts.
  2. Retro dishes and drinks are in and Cheese balls are a tasty throwback to a simpler time, before Meat and Cheese platters became “charcuterie,” and before artisanal napkins and free-range forks graced the place settings of every locally-sourced restaurant around.

“Cheese ball” is more than just an adjective describing the Santa sweater your Aunt Janice wears every Christmas without irony. Cheese balls are actually in style again especially during the holidays and, of course, National Cheese Ball Day on April 17.

The basic ingredients of the Cheese Ball often include Cheddar Cheese, Cream Cheese, Green Onion, and Spices sometimes coated with chopped Pecans. If you are a vegetarian you can make Vegetarian Cheese Balls.

Think of Cheese Balls as a kind of freestanding dip, with all of your favorite party flavors rolled into one compact package.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
