This is a review for a book Charlie can read in his Homeschool Drama Class which I received a physical copy of An Unofficial Guide To The World Of Studio Ghibli by Michael Leader (Author), Jake Cunningham (Author) for this review.
Charlie saw An Unofficial Guide To The World Of Studio Ghibli sitting on my desk. Charlie said the funny critters on the book reminds him of the Animi books he liked to read. We opened the book to find two kids floating in the air. Charlie said that might be fun. I don’t think so. LOL
This is a chapter book that can be read all in one setting or a chapter or a couple chapters a day. I liked how the Author included a letter for us letting us get to know them. Charlie can’t wait to check out there Podcast and to share it with his friends. Before you ask yes, I might watch it as well.
We learned Ghibili’s have hero’s although Charlie was more interested in the drawing of the Wolf. I enjoyed finding facts out in the book and the illustrations made the story more interesting. We learned words we hadn’t heard before. I learned about Cosplay and Charlie and I plan on dressing up one day. Would you like to join us?
The Authors even show us how to draw a Totoro which Charlie can do in his Homeschool Art Class. The book touches on cooking which Charlie can use in his Homeschool Cooking Class. Charlie and David can’t wait to make there own Ramen from the book. Would you like to join them for dinner?
All in all An Unofficial Guide To The World Of Studio Ghibli is so much more that a story book and not only children of all ages but adults will enjoy the story and like my family they will learn from it. I could see the book being used in Schools. I hope you pick up a copy of An Unofficial Guide To The World Of Studio Ghibli as soon as possible.
About:
From the creators of the podcast and bestselling book Ghibliotheque, this is a young film fan’s comprehensive guide to one of the most exciting and influential film studios in cinema history.
Hello from Ghibliotheque!
We are Michael and Jake, and together we make a podcast called Ghibliotheque, all about the films of the legendary Japanese animation company, Studio Ghibli. We think that Studio Ghibli has made some of the greatest films of all time, like My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away. We love nothing more than sharing these films with other people, whether that’s by watching them together on the big screen, or writing a book like the one you’re holding right now.
This book is our handy, illustrated guide to the world of Studio Ghibli, a world that is like no other. Over the following pages you’ll meet strong heroes, get to know wild and beguiling creatures, taste mouth-watering food, and travel via fast and fantastical modes of transportation. There is so much to explore and discover, so let’s quote the motto of the Ghibli Museum in Tokyo, and say: let’s get lost, together.
Enjoy!
Across eight chapters, we will get up close and personal with the movies, learn who’s who at the Oscar-winning studio and explore the impact that Ghibli World has left on our planet.
