Do you need a fresh, unique, and timeless Mother’s Day gift for the Mothers on your Gift List? For me even though my mom has passed I would love having a Star done in not only her name but my daughter as well. How about you?
I have the American Friends for the Preservation of Saint Germain des Prés and their Adopt-a-Star campaign.

Giving Mom a Piece of History, Honoring Her for Always
Make this Mother’s Day one for the memory books by gifting Mom a piece of history: write her name in the stars of the glorious celestial ceiling at Paris’ oldest church, Saint Germain des Prés.
At nearly 1,500 years old, this magnificent homage to human artistry and culture draws thousands of visitors from all over the globe every year to bask in its peaceful, welcoming halls and chambers.
Through war, revolution, and turmoil as well as times of celebration and comfort, the church at Saint Germain des Prés has stood through the ages to welcome visitors from far and wide. Now, it is undergoing much-needed restoration to bring it back to its full glory so generations to come may continue to enjoy it.
As part of this effort, the American Friends for the Preservation of Saint Germain des Prés are offering patrons the opportunity to “adopt” one of the hundreds of stars that comprise the ancient church’s magnificent vaulted ceilings:
- The Adopt a Saint Germain Star™ Campaign: Make a $150 donation that will go directly to preserving the church’s strikingly beautiful celestial ceilings, and then attribute Mom’s name to your donation and she will be honored continuously via a publicly viewable interactive map of the stars.
There are a limited number of stars available, so your gift will be especially meaningful — both to Mom and to lovers of art, architecture, and history all over the world.
Here’s a short video that can be shared on social media, and a more in-depth video about the restoration thus far. About American Friends for the Preservation of Saint Germain des Prés: American Friends for the Preservation of Saint Germain des Prés is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to fund the restoration of Paris’ oldest church.
