Amazon Studios’ HERSELF

The Mommies Reviews

I would like to share something with you Covid-19 and the Pandemic might not have affected our family in a lot of ways but it has brought back my depression.

Which I hate to admit and the only way I don’t spend sleeping all day is by working or watching movies. Not knowing if its safe to go to a Theater I’ve been depending more and more on movies I can watch online.

Which is why I am eternally grateful for Amazon and there Original Movies brought to me courtesy of Alamo Theaters. As you saw the last couple weeks I was able to watch two new movies and I’m hoping I’m able to watch Amazon Studios’ HERSELF as well.

Amazon Studios’ HERSELF opens in select theaters beginning December 30th (including the Inwood Theatre in Dallas on 12/30 and the Fun Movie Grill Macarthur Marketplace in Irving on 12/31) and will debut on Amazon Prime Video on January 8th.

HERSELF will open in select theaters beginning December 30th. Available on Amazon Prime on January 8th.

Synopsis: Single mother Sandra (Clare Dunne) escapes her abusive partner with her two young children, only to find herself trapped in temporary accommodation. After months of struggling, she draws inspiration from one of her daughter’s bedtime stories and hits upon the idea of self-building an affordable home. She finds an architect who provides her with plans and is offered land by Peggy (Harriet Walter), a woman she cleans for.

Aido (Conleth Hill), a building contractor, appears willing to help, too. But as her past rears its head in the form of Gary (Ian Lloyd Anderson), her possessive ex, and as bureaucrats fight back against her independent spirit, will Sandra be able to rebuild her life from the ground up?
