AFFECT Inc. and Feed the Children

I would like to let you know I live close to Plano, Texas and if means a lot to me to know local families was helped out. Because I live in a small suburb in Fort Worth, Texas and I can tell you that the people her could use this type of help as well.

I just wish I had the money or friends and family to hel me hel others out. Because in my area alone I know of one family that doesn’t have much as all and would really appreciate this type of help Because when she ask Charities they always turn her down.

Which is very wrong as she is a granny raising her grandchildren and the amount of money she makes doesn’t even pay her bills or buy enough food for them to last a whole month. So my family does all we can to help them. But this year we couldn’t even help ourselves so there was no,way to help her out.

AFFECT Inc. and Feed the Children Fight to End Hunger

400 Plano-area Families Received Food and Essentials

PLANO, TX. (Dec. 19, 2016) – As the holidays near, many across North Texas are looking to help those in need. Thanks to a generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous, Feed the Children and AFFECT Inc. are doing just that. They worked together and lent a hand to Plano-area families Fri., Dec. 16. A semi truck full of food and essentials was distributed to 400 families at AFFECT Inc. located at 1026 F Ave.

Because hunger can’t be tackled alone, Feed the Children (one of the largest U.S.-based charities) was proud to partner with AFFECT Inc. (a local nonprofit committed to affecting positive change in the lives of those living in Plano and surrounding areas). AFFECT Inc. pre-identified families in need, who each received a 25-pound food box; a 10-pound box of basic essentials like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and personal-care items; a box of assorted Avon products; and holiday hams.

The event also featured various community organizations that provided complimentary services and products to the families including: smoke detector checks from the local fire department, a free health clinic for elders and children, resources from Habitat for Humanity, and women’s health clinics.

The event is one of many Feed the Children has planned across the country to help feed bodies, minds and futures. In Plano, more than 7 percent of families live below the poverty line. Often, these children and families are unsure where they will find their next meal.

“Today, we are not only providing food and necessities to families—but also hope,” said Travis Arnold, Feed the Children Interim CEO/President and COO. “Hope for a better future that was made possible thanks to an anonymous donor and AFFECT Inc.”
