POW! Kids Books is proud to present the December 2022 release of Adventures for Breakfast. I received a copy of Adventures for Breakfast in exchange for a review. Adventures for Breakfast is written and illustrated by Anastasiya Keegan. Doesn’t the title Adventures for Breakfast make you want to sit down and dive into this new children’s book?
I sat down this morning while the house was quite before having breakfast to read Adventures for Breakfast. As I finished the book, I found myself wondering what Charlie would think of Adventures for Breakfast and why. As well as finding myself in the kitchen preparing a bowl of Oatmeal for breakfast because the book made me hungry.
Charlie came down that morning for school. I had Adventures for Breakfast laying out on my desk to show David. Charlie picked up Adventures for Breakfast to thumb through. The next thing I knew Charlie was reading the book. Not only that Charlie kept saying mom look did you see this or did you see that. \
As Charlie finished the book and closed the book up, I asked Charlie what he thought of the story. Charlie let me know he loved the plot. Charlie couldn’t stop talking about all the adventures the kids went on and how they used their imagination. Leading Charlie to try and figure out if he could do some of the things they did in the book.
Anastasiya Keegan learned to paint as a child at a local children’s art school in her hometown of Grozny, Russia. In 2006 she graduated from the Stravropol Art School as a graphic designer and later studied in St. Petersburg at the Higher School of Print and Media Technologies as a book artist. Her first book in Russia was published in 2011 and won the Russian competition “Obraz Knigi.” In 2014, she devoted herself to working with book illustrations, and has since published a dozen books in Russia as an illustrator. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York and works on her own projects as an author and illustrator.
