David and his father and also our son Travis loves Cheesecake and even Charlie will eat a piece at times. For the A to Z Challenge Letter C Cheesecake isn’t something I have ever made.
With our Anniversary next month I found this recipe below which I would like to surprise David with. I may add a Strawberry Topping because David loves Strawberries and for David’s dad I can save half of the Cheesecake and add Blueberries or Black Berries. That is if David doesn’t eat all of the Cheesecake.
How to Make Classic Cheesecake
You only need a few basic staple ingredients for cheesecake.
- Block cream cheese: Four 8-ounce blocks of full-fat cream cheese are the base of this cheesecake. That’s 2 pounds.
- Sugar: 1 cup.
- Sour cream: 1 cup.
- 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice.
- Eggs: 3 eggs are the final ingredient.
Make sure the cheesecake batter ingredients are room temperature the batter remains smooth, even, and combines quickly.
For the Crust you will need a Graham Cracker Crust.
How to Make a Cheesecake Water Bath
placing the springform pan in a roasting pan, fill with hot water, and baking.
Cheesecake loves a humid environment and the steam from the hot water will lift the cheesecake slowly and evenly, reduce cracks.
After the cheesecake cools in the oven for 1 hour, place it on the counter to cool. After it’s cool, chill it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or even overnight.
Thank you,
