When my nephew was growing up one time for his Birthday he asked for a Icecream Cake. Before you ask no, he never got one as far as I know. With Easter here before we was all Quarried to our home I had planned on picking one up and inviting his family over for dessert.

This Icecream Cake would have been perfect for Suzzie because its pink her favorite color.

Since we can’t have company I thought I would pick up a Icecream Cake for Charlie, David and I but they didn’t want’ any desserts for Easter. We even ordered in so I wouldn’t have to cook.

Now, I am thinking I might make a Icecream Cake for myself for Mother’s Day and my Anniversary on the 20th of May and celebrate both days with my sister because her Birthday is May 4th. Would you like to join us?

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 gallon chocolate ice cream, softened Breyers Chocolate Ice Cream 1.5 Qt
  1. Prepare cake according to package directions; bake in a 9×13 inch baking dish and cool completely.
  2. Use ice cream that comes in a rectangular carton. Remove the carton and, using a piece of string or dental floss, cut the ice cream in half lengthwise (long side to long side) and place the two layers side by side on a piece of waxed paper.
  3. Place the cooled cake over the ice cream. Trim the cake and ice cream so that the edges match.
  4. Place a board or serving platter over the cake, hold onto the waxed paper and board, and flip the ice cream cake over. Remove the waxed paper and smooth out the seam between the ice cream slabs.
  5. Cover with waxed paper and freeze until very firm. Decorate as desired.

Description of Inspector McClue – Death by Chocolate:

It’s the 15th of April 1900, Easter Sunday. Paris is the center of world attention as millions of visitors arrive for the opening this weekend of the International Exposition. Among-st them is an elite but diverse group of individuals staying at the Hotel Paradiso.

As they gather for dinner, however the peace of the hotel is rocked by an explosion. Billy Bonka, the foremost chocolate manufacturer in America, is found dead in his room, having apparently been killed by an exploding Easter Egg. Suspicion falls on the people around his table.


One – or more – of you is a murderer. Your task is to discover who that killer is. Fortubatele the famous amateur detective Hercule McClue is on hand to assist your investigations.

Everyone’s a suspect when murder is on the menu. And with Murder a la Carte you have everything you need to serve up the perfect murder dinner party. First the invites, you choose which of your friends play which devious suspect and invite them to come along as that character.

Then the shopping list, menu suggestions and recipes. Plus of course…a really tasty murder to solve. It will be drop dead fun, and by the end of the evening, one (or more) of the suspects, your ‘friends’, will be caught out as the murderer!
